Aquafina, Golden Penny, Adron Homes partner @5th Cycling Lagos championship - ITREALMS

Aquafina, the premium water brand from Seven-Up Bottling Company (SBC), has inked a strategic sponsorship agreement to provide exclusive hydration and financial support for the 5th Cycling Lagos championship, taking place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, reports ITREALMS.

The partnership will see Seven-Up Bottling Company establish designated hydration stations at the race start line, along the designated Coastal Road circuit, and across finishing areas.

Marketing Manager for Energy & Hydration at SBC, Omokehinde Thomas, stated that the brand's intervention aims to reinforce active mobility, athlete recovery, and community wellness throughout the competition.

Joining SBC on the corporate partner roster for the 2026 edition are Golden Penny Foods, Adron Homes, Checkers Custard, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, and AIICO Multishield. 

President and Chief Executive Officer of Cycling Africa Limited, Bamidele Adeleye, commended the private sector coalition, highlighting that corporate support underscores cycling's rising profile as a driver for sustainable urban transport, sports development, and environmental stewardship.

Organized by Cycling Africa Limited in partnership with the Lagos State Cycling Association, the 2026 edition is themed "TRASH TO TREASURE: Unlocking Recycling Capacity for a Sustainable Future." 

The flagship sports event will feature multiple competitive categories, including the Children’s Race, Celebrity Race, and main professional circuits routeing across Lagos before finishing at the National Stadium. 

Dedicated state emergency services, security personnel, and medical teams will manage traffic control, safety protocols, and route coordination.
