The .NG country code top-level domain (ccTLD), has soared to 215,000 in registration amidst call for increased adoption, reports ITREALMS.

Managers of the .NG, the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) gave this insight, showing that its popularity in usage for websites and email addresses have continued to grow.

The Committee arising from its 295th meeting on the 20th and 21st of May 2024 to review recent economic and financial developments and assess risks to the outlook decided that to raise the MPR by 150 basis points to 26.25 per cent from 24.75 per cent; retain the asymmetric corridor around the MPR to +100/-300 basis points; retain the Cash Reserve Ratio of Deposit Money Banks at 45.00 per cent; and retain the Liquidity Ratio at 30.00 per cent.

Since the beginning of the fifth month of 2024, May, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has made a total of 193 arrests related to cyber crimes and internet fraud across various cities in Nigeria, reports ITREALMS.

Also, ITREALMS investigations on the number of convictions by the EFCC in 2021 showed that there were some 35 cases, just as 54 cases were mentioned on cyber crimes, even as cybercrime as compound word appeared 339 in the 174 page document.
