The 2021 Tomorrow’s Cyber Heroines study undertaken by CyberHeroines, KnowBe4 Africa and Infosphere Limited surveyed more than 445 teachers across 14 African countries to unpack the complexities that face African girls in the technology landscape. With Africa’s future reliant on its ability to adapt to digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), levelling the playing field for women has become critical. It has never been more important to change the cybersecurity workforce gender statistics than it is today.

“We have to give girls more opportunities, inspire them to get involved in technology and the cybersecurity field, and to remove the preconceived and socialised ideas that prevent women from pursuing careers in technology,” says Anna Collard, SVP of Content Strategy and Evangelist KnowBe4 Africa. “The world is digitising rapidly and women are at risk of being left behind. We have to change the dialogue around technology and make it more inclusive for women and girls.”

The man who took to his Instagram page, @Kolliwilly, Mr. Kola Adesina, to announce the arrest of one Mr. Sunday, his former staff who allegedly stole the sum of N7m to open a phoneshop in the popular computer village, Lagos, has been receiving unanticipated backlash from social media enthusiasts including his followers, who were divided on whom to support, reports ITREALMS.

Mr. Kola Adesina who shared Sunday’s photo at the right; tied and undressed to his underwear.

According to him, “#Gotcha.. This is Sunday my staff. He stole N7m, ran away and set up a phone shop in computer village. Been hunting him for 2 months and got him this afternoon. He is chilling in jail where he belongs🙃🙈🙃
“PS. I had him untied immediately i got to where he was caught. I’m against brutality of any kind.”

“As of 25th January, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) had received an initial release of N22.1 billion, with only 59.8% of this figure utilized or committed thus far. This is because of the efficiency in the system plus the support from partners and donors that allowed the government to be judicious with the use of the funds thus far. The entire PTF funds were expected to be exhausted by the end of September 2020. Based on current projections, these funds may likely last until the end of June 2021 and contribute to the response.” - Information from a PTF insider.

Governor 'Seyi Makinde of Oyo State declared on Monday that the state government has turned the heat on kidnappers and criminals in Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun axis of the state, adding that the state will succeed in routing them.

Governor Makinde, who was speaking at different spots in Ibarapaland where he engaged the people in town hall meetings, said that his administration will get the criminals to account for their heinous acts in the state.
