The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has advised telecommunications consumers to only subscribe to any Value Added Services (VAS), especially the voice mail, cautioning mobile network operators of forceful subscription, reports ITREALMS.
This advice was given by the Chief Executive and Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, over the weekend in a video clip available to ITREALMS, saying that some mobile network operators are now shortchanging subscribers mostly through alleged forceful subscription for voice mail.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has advised telecommunications consumers to verify their desired mobile devices to ascertain if they are type-approved before purchase is made, reports ITREALMS.
Director of Technical Standard and Network Integrity, Engr. Bako Wakil, gave this advice on Monday in a video chat, saying that telecom consumers could make this confirmation on NCC’s website before completing payment for a transaction.

Information reaching ITREALMS newsroom has shown how a 13-year old boy, Somtoochukwu Adizue who was abducted from the premises of St. Dominic Catholic Church Yaba, last Saturday, escaped a few hours later.
According to source close to the family told
ITREALMS that on Saturday, April 24, Master Somtoochukwu Adizue, aged 13 (popularly known as Somtoo) had attended evening Catechism Class in preparation for Sacrament of Confirmation (SOC).

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has dragged about 2,000 corporate entities into the country’s tax net, reports ITREALMS.
ICPC Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, SAN, made this revelation on Tuesday in Abuja, while responding to questions from journalists at the end of a capacity building for ICPC investigators on investigating Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) held at the corporate headquarters of the Commission.

The Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia has signed the Treaty and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the African Risk Capacity (ARC) to work together towards helping the country better prepare, plan and respond to extreme weather events and natural disasters. The ARC Treaty and MoU were signed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia by Hon. Khadija Mohamed Diriye, the country’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs & Disaster Management.

The UK anti-corruption group Corner House has threatened legal action in response to a widely publicised complaint sent on behalf of former Attorney General Mr Mohammed Bello Adoke SAN, to Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, reports ITREALMS.
