Lagos, Kwara, NNPC, Customs, others drum support for GOCOP 7th annual conference in Abuja - ITREALMS

The Lagos and Kwara States government as well as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) are drumming support for the 7th annual conference of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), scheduled for Thursday, October 5 at the Abuja Continental Hotel (Old Sheraton) by 10am, reports ITREALMS.

Chairman of the 2023 Conference Planning Committee, Danlami Nmodu, mni revealed this in a press statement by the Publicity Secretary of GOCOP, Mr. Remmy Nweke, saying that a good number of bluechip companies and high net-worth companies as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have been on queue to support this year’s conference.

Mueller to speak @ IGP 7th conference in Hague - ITREALMS

Professor at the School of Public Policy, Georgia Institute of Technology, Dr. Milton L Mueller, would be speaking at the Internet Governance Project, 7th annual conference in the Hague, reports ITREALMS.

This was disclosed to ITREALMS by Dr. Mueller who said that the conference convenes scholars, practitioners, and government officials under the theme ‘From Internet Governance to Digital Political Economy.’

7th News Express anniversary lecture gets November 14 date - ITREALMS

The 7th News Express Anniversary Lecture has been confirmed as the organisers unveiled date for the forthcoming event to be on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Main Hall of Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos, reports ITREALMS.

The Lecture, according to News Express Publisher Isaac Umunna, “will focus attention on Nigeria’s economic cum developmental challenges and the way out.” The theme, he said, is “Getting Nigeria Out of the Woods – A New Thinking”.

“An array of experts in various fields of endeavor to be unveiled in the days ahead will tackle the issue from different perspectives,” Umunna said.

He further said: “As was the case with previous years’ editions, the 7th News Express Anniversary Lecture will attract top government functionaries, industry and religious leaders, professional groups and diverse sectorial leaders, among others. It is a spectacular programme that commands public attention with organisers creating hype pre-event, during and post events both in the traditional and new media. It will also be streamed live to a global audience and broadcast on News Express Digital TV.”

The statement identified past speakers at the News Express Anniversary Lecture to include Special Adviser To The President On Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina; Governor Sani Bello of Niger State, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director Hadiza Bala Usman; and ‘Africa’s Bill Gates’, Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Technologies Ltd and Konga.

Airtel CEO leads discussants @ Telecom Dev. Lecture’13


The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, would on this Friday, lead discussants on the future of Nigeria’s telecoms market as keynote speaker at the 7th annual Nigerian Telecom Development Lecture (NTDL).

ITRealms gathered that the event organised by Logica Communications, publishers of the Nigerian Telecom Weekly, that the lecture is an annual platform for thought leadership on the intersection between telecommunications and society.

The lecture, which is scheduled to hold on Friday, September 20th, 2013 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, will commence at 10.a.m.

The event, the organisers said would be chaired by Chief Peter Igho, Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission and will also feature a keynote address from Dr. Eugene Juwah, Executive Vice Chairman, Nigeria Communications Commission.

Mr. Ogunsanya would speak on The Nigerian Telecoms Market: Championing the African Course at the lecture, would also feature a paper by Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, according to Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, the chief host.


Ajiboye disclosed that Ogunsanya would mount a platform that had featured distinguished speakers, including Prof Wole Soyinka; former Executive Vice Chairman, NCC, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe; Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah; Harvard historian, Prof. Molefi Kete Asante, and former Governors of Lagos State and Cross Rivers State, Bola Tinubu and Donald Duke, respectively.
