The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially expanded Nigeria’s political landscape to 21 parties following the registration of two new entities, the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), reports ITREALMS.

During the year’s first consultative meeting with party leaders in Abuja, INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN, disclosed that while the DLA met all statutory requirements, the NDC was registered in compliance with a Federal High Court judgment from Lokoja.

MOSOP: Tinubu not expected to trigger Ogoni crises over oil - ITREALMS

The President of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP), Fegalo Nsuke, has assured the Ogoni people that despite efforts by some private interests to forcefully resume oil production in Ogoni, he is confident that Nigeria's President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not trigger an oil related crises in Ogoni just to satisfy them.

A statement signed by Alex Akori, Secretary-General, MOSOP noted that MOSOP President, Fegalo Nsuke, who spoke at the MOSOP secretariat in Bori, the traditional headquarters of the Ogoni people on Sunday where he met some critical stakeholders including kingdom coordinators of the movement expressed hope that as the nation prepares for the 2027 elections, the Nigerian Government will not risk a crises in Ogoni or any other parts of the Niger Delta region.

ALTON: Two regualtors in telecoms sector will breed crises - ITREALMS

The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has once again rejected any move to have two regulators in the telecommunications industry, saying it would breed crises, insisting that NITDA should focus on Research and Development (R&D), reports ITREALMS.

ALTON in a submission to the Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Security, The Senate, National Assembly Complex Abuja, FCT made available to ITREALMS, noted that the industry is already highly regulated by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
