Buhari leads FG delegation to eNigeria’19 - ITREALMS

President Muhammadu Buhari has been confirmed to lead the Federal Government (FG) delegations to the 2019 e-Nigeria annual conference as the special guest of honour, reports ITREALMS.

Confirming this to ITREALMS, spokesperson to the Minister of Communications & Digital Economy, Mrs. Uwa Suleiman said, Buhari accepted and approved the invitation of the Minister, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) to serve as Special Guest of Honour, through a letter.

The confab scheduled to hold from Thursday, 28th to Saturday, 30th of November 2019 with the theme centred around: Digital Economy for a Digital Nigeria, she said, would be declared open by the President, with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy as the Chief Host and Chief Convener, Director-General National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr Kashif Inuwa Abdullahi.

They are expected to be joined by all the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of agencies under the Ministry’s purview will serve as co-hosts. 

These, she said, include the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta; Managing Director Galaxy Backbone PLC, Mr. Yusuf Kazaure; Managing Director Nigeria Communications Satelite (NIGCOMSAT), Dr Abimbola Alale; Acting Executive Secretary Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) Mr Ayuba Shuaibu; and the Post-Master General, Nigeria Postal Services (NIPOST) Barrister Adebisi Adegbuyi.

Also, she said the highlight of this year’s event, would be the formal public presentation for review, in line with the President’s directives, the draft document on the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, in accordance the Ministry’s mandate.

The Minister has also constituted Central Working Committee (CWC), for e-Nigeria chaired by him, with NITDA as its secretariat and coordinator, while the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Parastatals under the Ministry’s supervision serve as members.

Recall that the e-Nigeria Conference is the nation’s flagship IT Conference organized by the Federal Government and coordinated by NITDA, the Federal Government’s Information Technology (IT) develop arm, supervised by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

US seeks Nigerian delegation to 2018 Global Security Exchange - ITRealms Online

The United States Commercial Service office in Lagos is recruiting an official Nigerian delegation to attend the Global Security Exchange (GSX) 2018, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, United States of America, reports ITRealms.

The Global Security Exchange (GSX) 2018, formerly the ASIS Annual Seminar and Exhibits, is an International Buyer Program (IBP) scheduled to hold on September 23rd – 27th, 2018.

Telecom World’14: Johnson, ITU’s Zhao, others @Etisalat stand



The Honourable Minister of Communication Technology, Dr. Omobola Johnson,  at the just concluded International Telecommunication Union (ITU)-organised Telecom World conference in Doha led a delegation of dignitaries  to Etisalat stand, reports ITRealms.

ITRealms correspondent gathered that the visit took place shortly after Dr. Johnson finished speaking at the official opening of the Nigerian pavilion which was sponsored in collaboration with Nigeria's most reliable network, Etisalat among other stakeholders.

Dr. Johnson’s entourage at Etisalat stand comprised of ITU Deputy Secretary General who is the incoming Secretary General, Mr. Houlin Zhao and Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Dr. Eugene Juwah, during the visit to Etisalat’s exhibition stand.

She used the occasion to highlight similarities between the theme of the ITU conference “Future in Focus” and the Nigerian government. 

“The theme of ITU world 2014 resonates with the Nigerian government as we work to build a better and brighter future for our people. Nigeria has developed key policies and initiatives that have set the foundation for the widespread use of ICT by government and businesses,” she said.

Dr. Johnson also noted that conversations at the ITU Telecom World on key trends, developments, business models and applications will be invaluable in helping us to build a better future in the ICT industry.

ITRealms reports that Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs at Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Ibrahim Dikko in his remarks commended the Ministry and NCC for developing clear policies to guide the industry and promote healthy competition among the operators.

11 Turkish cosmetic firms arrive Nigeria on trade mission

A total of Eleven Turkish cosmetics manufacturers have arrived Nigeria on special trade mission for a high-level business meetings with leading importers and manufacturers of cosmetics in Nigeria.

ITRealms gathered that from Tuesday, October 29th, the Turkish cosmetics manufacturers will hold a series of business meetings and close deals with selected leaders in the Nigerian cosmetics sector and provide fast track support for the cosmetics sector in Nigeria.

Sources close to the delegation informed that the visit was spurred by the growing strategic importance of Nigeria as a key emerging market and the increasing reputation of Turkey as a world class manufacturer and a reliable supplier of top quality goods and cosmetics.

The Turkish cosmetics sector is particularly growing and realized over $1 billion in export value in 2012 alone. With Nigeria's large population and equally growing cosmetic industry, Nigeria and Turkey are poised for stronger ties and a mutually beneficial trade partnership.

The delegation from Turkey,  will consist of 11 companies, two senior representatives of IKMIB Istanbul Chemicals & Chemical Products Exporters Association and the owner of the project, two representatives from the Ministry of Economy of the Government of Turkey, MetinCobanlioglu the Director  of Globrand, Coordinators of the project. The Head of the delegation is the Chairman of IKMIB Mr. Murat Akyuz

Mr. Akyuz, the leader of the delegation, pointed out that the Turkish cosmetics cluster is a special project aiming to increase international trade as well as boost the exports  of a selective group of companies. The group has been selected from the most competitive manufacturers in the sector.
So far, he said, the project have organized many activities in abroad, namely in Panama, Mexico, Paraguay and Chile, noting that those companies coming to Nigeria for this visit are among the world's best.
Turkish products, he said, are of high quality European standards, just as they also have the advantage of competitive prices, flexibility in packaging and production as well as having the shortest possible delivery periods.

"Our special visit here reflects our commitment to Nigeria and our recognition of its importance as a key strategic market.  We want to develop long term business relations in Nigeria with our high quality products, and also make it easier for Nigerian cosmetic manufacturers and importers to do business with Turkey," Mr. Akyuz said.
