The French
Telecommunications equipment company Alcatel-Lucent has, after self assessment,
commended her just concluded Technology week which was held in Nigeria, reports
ITRealms.
The Country Senior Officer
and Managing Director of Alcatel-Lucent in Nigeria, Richard Edet, said, “The
Alcatel-Lucent Technology Week was an excellent occasion to exchange, share,
and build up together the next innovation framework that will help our
customers innovate to unleash their values within their networks. I really look
forward to the next session coming up soon,” he said.
He explained the idea behind
hosting Alcatel-Lucent Technology Week.“With a population of 170 million,
Nigeria is considered as Africa’s biggest economy and one of the largest and
fastest growing telecom markets on the continent,” ITRealms reports.
The three-day event that held
in both Lagos and Abuja.was well attended by over a hundred professionals from
Nigeria ICT ecosystem.
The Alcatel-Lucent Technology
Week in Nigeria, ITRealms learnt,
hosted professionals from the ICT sector, including those involved in strategic
planning, network design, new service implementation and network management.
The Technology week came as communications service providers, and
regulatory body in Nigeria, engage in the process of evolving their networks
toward ultra-broadband and internet protocol (IP) networking technologies which
aligns closely with Alcatel-Lucent’s areas of specialization under The Shift
Plan which is meant to refocus the company as an IP Networking and
Ultra-Broadband specialist, the technologies at the heart of next-generation
networks, and to deliver innovation that shapes the future of ICT industry.
In attendance, ITRealms gathered, were Airtel, EMTS,
GLO, MTN, NATCOM, Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) and UBC Services.
