The Peoples Gazette (PG) has uncovered how the Buhari administration provided seed capital for Adamu Garba’s Crowwe social media platform, hoping the firm would help the government dominate internal narratives while squaring an ardent challenge to Facebook and Twitter for the Nigerian audience.
The Gazette obtained bank documents that carried a transfer of funds from the Central Bank of Nigeria to Mr Garba’s IPI Solutions, a software engineering firm run by Mr Garba. The company developed and deployed the Crowwe social media app.

When the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was established by the military administration in Nigeria on 18 February 1988 in response to the menace of road traffic crashes, one of the cardinal strategies adopted by the founding fathers and enshrined in the enabling law was the use of public enlightenment tools as instruments for creating the desired changes and achieving the goal of a safer road environment. The idea was to complement the civil approach which the Corps sees as its value and upon which it has been relying to patrol the wide network of road since its establishment.

The pioneer Chairman of the FRSC Board, Professor Wole Soyinka saw road safety campaign as an inevitable activity that must be undertaken to keep the roads safer. He described FRSC as, "a preventive medicine." He also saw road safety campaign as a shared responsibility which no single person or organisation can handle while maintaining the superiority of civility over coercion.

The Director, Spectrum Administration at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Engr. Oluwatoyin Asaju, has been named the chairman of the  committee to develop the Information Memorandum (IM) for the auction of 3.5 gigahertz (GHz) spectrum band for deployment of Fifth Generation (5G) networks, reports ITREALMS.

Confirming this, the Director, Public Affairs, NCC, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde in a press statement available to ITREALMS, this IM when completed, will be used for early deployment of 5G services in the country.

Twitter ban: 5 NGOs, 4 Journalists sue FGN @ECOWAS court - ITREALMS

Some five non-governmental organizations and four journalists have filed a suit against the Federal Government of Nigeria at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja asking it to declare the indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria a violation of their human rights under international law, order the Government to immediately rescind the suspension, and compensate them for the violation of their rights, reports
