The Kalama Development Initiative, a socio-political pressure group, has praised Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for approving the construction of a bridge that will connect Kalama to the rest of the state.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele has bowed to pressure as he took avalanche of complaints to his principal, the Nigeria’s president, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired at his residence on Sunday in Daura, Katsina State to obtain approval for extension for swapping of old Naira notes, reports ITREALMS.

Speaking after a closed-door meeting with Buhari, ITREALMS gathered from close sources to CBN that Emefiele revealed the new deadline is now February 10, 2023.

Sonny Aragba-Akpore joins NCC as new Head, Media

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has appointed Mr. Sonny Aragba-Akpore as its new Head of Media, following the approval by the board of the Commission,  ITRealms reports.

ITRealms recalls Mr. Aragba-Akpore is one of the longest serving pioneers of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) reporting in Nigeria’s deregulated telecommunications sector, having worked at The Guardian from 1991 to 2010, and managed the News Desk before joining Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), where he also turned around the media profile of the company.

Director, Public Affairs at NCC, Mr. Tony Ojobo, confirmed this ITRealms in a press statement, noting that Mr. Aragba-Akpore holds both the Bachelors (B.A) and Masters (MA) degrees in English from the University of Lagos. 

According to Ojobo, Mr. Aragba-Akpore joins Mr. Reuben Muoka who is now in-charge of the Public Relations Unit of the Public Affairs Department of the Commission. 

Mr. Muoka, another pioneer ICT journalist and PR practitioner, used to be with Vanguard Newspaper before he joined MTS First Wireless as Head of Public Relation, and later the NCC where he brought his wealth of experience on the beat in projecting the Commission’s activities. 

He equally pointed out that Mr. Muoka holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Lagos and is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Associate member of the Advertising Practitioners Council and a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (ABC) among others.
