Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, a 69-year-old Chicago-born Augustinian friar, has been elected as the new Pope, taking the name Leo XIV, reports ITREALMS.

The Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo, has directed Air Peace to immediately improve its domestic operations owing to avalanche of complaints on flight delays and cancellations by the travelling public, reports ITREALMS.

Najomo gave the charge last Friday, at a meeting with some management staff of Nigeria's largest domestic operator in Abuja, AirPeace, and strongly advised the airline to trim its operations to the size of available aircraft presently in its fleet to mitigate the crisis.

The Newspaper Proprietors' Association of Nigeria (NPAN) has received the news that the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCT) upheld the $220 million fine imposed on Meta Platforms Incorporated, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, reports ITREALMS.

NPAN through NPAN secretary, Mrs Angela Emuwa and president, Malam Kabiru Yusuf, recalled that the penalty was imposed after a 30-month investigation between 2021 and 2023 by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) for unauthorised data sharing and discriminatory practices by Meta against Nigerian users.
