The 1983 set of Anglican Grammar School Iju-Itaogbolu has elected new executive with Mr. Segun Adeleye as president, reports ITREALMS.
Other members of the new executive include Olori Jumoke Olateru-Olagbegi as Vice President; Mrs. Yemisi Olokose as Secretary; Mrs Folakemi Ayooni as the Treasurer and Mr. Tayo Aladegbonmire as Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Bigotry statement: Anglican clergies tackle Joe Igbokwe over Peter Obi - ITREALMS

Anglican clergies in Anambra State have tackled Joe Igbokwe and berated him over a bigotry statement on the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sir Peter Obi, reports ITREALMS.
In his reactions, the Archbishop, Province on the Niger, Most Rev. Dr. Christian Efobi, in referring to Obi stint in Anambra State and good governance unlike what Nigerians are witnessing at the Federal today, resorted to a biblical quote: “When the righteous are on the throne, the people rejoice.”
Also, the Anglican Bishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo, what Anambra witnessed under Obi is a revolution, the likes of which the State has not witnessed in the past.
According to Bishop Ephraim Ikeakor of Amichi Diocese, Obi had done very well as a governor, especially on his return of schools to the Churches has made the difference in education.
“His collaboration with the Church is yielding fruits,” he said, declaring that any person who said he (Obi) had not done well is a blatant liar.
ITREALMS reported that the Anglican Bishop of Ihiala, Most Rev. Dr. Raphael Okafor, during the first session of the Second Synod of the Diocese at St. Andrew Church, Lilu said, “His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, CON, the former Governor of Anambra State will always be celebrated in the State. We cannot forget him and his Government, which was a Golden Era in this State which we hope will continue.”
At St. John’s Anglican Church, Umueze-Anam, while presenting an award to Obi, the Diocesan Bishop and Synod President, Rt. Rev. Dr. Henry Okeke, said “the award became expedient given that it was the last Obi would attend our synod as governor. He is a friend of the Diocese and he is being honoured in recognition of his contribution towards the success of the Diocese since inception as well as the development of Anambra West as a whole.”
At the 1st Session of the 29th Synod of Anglican Diocese on the Niger at St. Thomas Church, Oraukwu, the Bishop of the Diocese, Right Reverend Professor Godwin Okpala said, “I thank Mr. Peter Obi whole-heartedly for always identifying with affairs of the Church. God will continue to bless and uplift him for transforming the entire State. He has set a standard others will strive to emulate.”
The Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Niger West, Rt. Revd Prof Anthony Nkwoka at Archbishop Patterson's Seminary, Igbariam said this of Obi: “We shall remain prayerful at all times for God to give the State a Governor that will be like Gov. Peter Obi when his tenure expires. I have followed the Governor's politics over the years and I see in him essential godliness that is absent among Nigerian politicians. By returning schools to the missions with sincere apologies and providing funds for their rehabilitation, Obi has left an indelible legacy for generations unborn."
In his own remarks about Obi, the Anglican Bishop of Awka, Rt. Rev Alexander Ibezim, during his visit to the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia said: “development under Peter Obi in all sectors, especially education is marvelous… Obi’s example in governance is worthy of emulation for building institutions, unlike the past governors of the state that built individuals.”
For them, Obi deserves the support of very blooded Igbo man in his efforts at support Atiku presidency to reposition Nigeria.

Bishop fracas in Lagos Anglican Church, aggrieved parties allege bribery, petition EFCC
Crisis is brewing in the Church of Nigeria (AnglicanCommunion), over recent election of the Rt. Rev. Humphrey Olumakaiye, as the
new Bishop of Lagos alleging bribery and misappropriation of fund, with
petition already sent to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) ,
reports ITRealms.
Also, ITRealms gathered,
there had been allegations of corruption and inducement of members with money
during the election held in Ilorin, recently.
ITRealms equally
gathered that during the recent Episcopal Synod of the Church in Ilorin, Kwara
State, the leadership of the church in a statement by its General Secretary,
Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Ayodeji Fagbemi, announced that a number of new Bishops and
ArchBishops had been elected.
The Rt Rev. Olumakaiye, according to the statement, would be
transiting from the Diocese of Osun North East to Lagos.
Nevertheless, the mood among members of the congregation in
Lagos suggested a strong disaffection and clear opposition to the election of
Olumakaiye, seen to have been imposed by the outgoing Diocesan Bishop of Lagos,
The Most Rev. (Dr.) Adebola Ademowo.
ITRealms further gathered that for instance, that a
statement issued in Lagos at the weekend signed by one Mr. Ade Doherty on
behalf of members of the church and who claimed to be aggrieved over the said
election of Olumakaiye, indicated that Olumakaiye’s election was stage-managed,
not influenced by the Holy Spirit and as such, “unacceptable.”
The statement reads: “The so-called election of Olumakaiye
at the recent conference of Bishops in Ilorin was a clear manipulation of the
House of Bishops who were "teleguided" by both Ademowo and The
Primate, the Most Revd. (Dr.) Nicholas Okoh.
“Of course, we have it on good authority that huge sums of
money exchanged hands to facilitate the so-called election of Olumakaiye and
majority of our members in Lagos stand united in opposition to this mischief.
It is a charade and can never stand.”
They also claimed that such action by the House of Bishops
was a way of trying to elongate the tenure of Ademowo.
It was also alleged that he (Ademowo), in order to perfect
the election manipulation, facilitated a multi-million Naira house for Primate
Okoh in the Lekki area of Lagos.
They made references to Ademowo's earlier statements and
actions, which they claimed, put paid to Olumakaiye's emergence.
The aggrieved further stated that their solicitors had
prepared a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to
probe the alleged acquisition of the said Lekki property, the financial
inducements in the House of Bishops, and the alleged porous accounts of the
Lagos Diocese and women organisations in the Lagos Diocese, which they alleged
was the reason “the succession at all costs is taking place.”
