Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has made significant changes to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) by dismissing the board chairman, Pius Akinyelure, and the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Mele Kyari, effective April 2, 2025, reports ITREALMS.
This move, according to presidency sources, is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, restoring investor confidence, and driving sectoral reforms.
The Group Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari has been reappointed with Chief Pius Akinyelure becoming the Non-Executive Board Chairman, reports ITREALMS.
Kyari and Akinyelure would be joined in the latest appointment by seven others, including Alhaji Umar Isa Ajiya — Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Ledum Mitee — Non-Executive Director, Mr. Musa Tumsa — Non-Executive Director, Mr. Ghali Muhammad — Non-Executive Director, Prof. Mustapha Aliyu — Non-Executive Director, Mr. David Ogbodo — Non-Executive Director; and Ms. Eunice Thomas — Non-Executive Director.
