Her selection followed an election cycle where a call for nominations was conducted between August 24 and September 7, 2026.

Craig was the sole nominee for the position and accepted her nomination on August 24, leading to her selection by acclamation.

Pursuant to the ALAC Rules of Procedure, the chair serves a one-year term, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year subject to community provisions.

Craig will officially assume office at the close of the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting on October 22, 2026.

Unveiling her vision for her tenure, Craig outlined a strategic agenda anchored on building "One ALAC: Connected, Capable and Influential":

Connected: Focuses on deepening relationships across the ALAC, the Regional At-Large Organizations (RALOs), and the broader ICANN ecosystem to foster collaboration.

Capable: Prioritizes strengthening institutional knowledge, mentoring emerging leaders, and expanding contribution pathways for end-user advocates.

Influential: Aims to reinforce ALAC's role as a trusted, evidence-based voice on core policy issues impacting global Internet end users.

Further,
ITREALMS gathered that Craig brings extensive ICANN community experience to the position, having served nearly three years as ALAC Co-Vice Chair, Co-Chair of the Operations, Finance and Budget Working Group (OFB-WG), and an active contributor to the Consolidated Policy Working Group (CPWG).

Having entered the ICANN community as an ICANN Fellow, she regularly participates in bilateral engagements with the ICANN Board, Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC), and Supporting Organizations.
