The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun to oil its machineries for the forthcoming Anambra State governorship elections slated for Saturday, November 8, 2025, even as the party primaries will start from Thursday, March 20, this year, reports ITREALMS.The National Commissioner & Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr Sam Olumekun, disclosed this after the weekly meeting of the Commission, today, Thursday in Abuja.

Telcos commence harmonised shortcodes' implementation - ITREALMS

The Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has announced the commencement of harmonised short codes across all networks in pursuant to a regulatory modernisation initiative by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), reports ITREALMS.

The harmonisation of shortcodes are aimed at implementing a streamlined process for common shortcodes across the industry, by making life easier for Nigerians through the memorisation of single codes, for various services across all networks as well as providing a cohesive regulatory framework that is consistent with global best practices.

ntel commences national roaming test with 9Mobile
Acclaimed 4G/LTE broadband operator,
ntel, has advanced plans to commence a national roaming field trial with 9Mobile,
today, December 1, 2017, reports ITRealms.
Head, Corporate Communications at ntel, Toni Kan Onwordi, disclosed this
to ITRealms, said the operators
have received regulatory approval from the Nigerian Communications Commission
(NCC) to commence a national roaming trial over a two-month period.
According to ntel, the agreement will enable
ntel’s customers to make calls on 9Mobile’s network using any 2G or 3G handset
within the specified trial zone.
Speaking on the commencement of the
national roaming trial, ntel’s chief executive officer (CEO) Mr. Ernest
Akinlola, described the deal as significant.
“This agreement is a significant step
in the right direction for us as a company and the telecommunications eco
system. A full national roaming agreement with 9Mobile would provide our
growing customer base with a seamless service over 4G/LTE superfast data and
voice clarity as well as ubiquitous 3G and 2G coverage nationwide. Both
operators are pioneers in innovation and we are pleased to be charting a new
path for the industry,” he said.
Akinlola
also confirmed that the national roaming test is expected to commence on both
networks from today, Friday, December 1, 2017.

Anambra Guber'17: Elders, youths lauds Ojiba, commence voters mobilisation for ACPN
Elders and youths at Nsugbe at the weekend (on Friday) pledged support for the governorship ambition of the candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Comrade Akunwata Ejoh Ojiba, reports ITRealms.
The elders and youths who came out in their numbers to welcome his campaign team on a consultative visit to the area, chanted "O jebego, o jebego", meaning he has won.
Nsugbe is the home town of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tony Nwoye.
The elders and youths, some of whom are other political party leaders, shunned the flag off of the APC candidate to welcome Comrade Ojiba, who they described as their own.
Nsugbe is the home town of the ACPN candidate's grandmother.
Speaking on behalf of the other elders, Obi Nwoye Ogbuagu said, "Ojiba is our own and for remembering us, his mother's people, we are happy and we pledge all our undivided support him."
The elders in turn prayed for Akunwata Ejoh Ojiba and and his campaign team, asking God to see them through to the government house Awka this year.
On their part, the Chairman of Enugwu Youths Organization, Nsugbe, Mr. Francis Bosah and the Chief Task of the youths group, Mr. Onyebuchi Udeze, reiterated that Ejoh Ojiba is their own and has the support of the youths.
"We are giving him full support, he is the one that will go for us", Udeze added.
Earlier, the Director General of the Akunwata Ejoh Ojiba Campaign Train, Chief David Okagbue urged the people of Enugwu Nsugbe to support the party.
Leaders at the meeting were the South East Coordinator of the party, Engr. Ikechukwu Okagbue, the State Chairman of the party, Comrade Sam Anumba, the Onitsha North Woman leader of the party, Hon. Ndidi Olieh, among others.
Comrade Ojiba is a retired Customs Officer and says he has a divine transformation agenda for Anambra State.
