Not less than five Nigerians have been confirmed dead following the last match between Nigeria and South Africa at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2024) taking place at Cote D' Ivoire, reports ITREALMS.

The heart-breaking news filtered into newsroom with the death of a renowned medical doctor turned Politician, public commentator, and a former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh died while watching the match. He was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the time of his sudden and saddened death.

The board and management of Daar Communications Plc has given reason on what led to the death of its founder, High Chief, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi which took place on Monday, May 29, 2023, reports ITREALMS.

Late Dr. Dokpesi, according the Group Managing Director, Mr. Tony Akiotu, in a press statement available to ITREALMS has been ill in the last few weeks but was on his way to full recovery.

BBC Malawian reporter dies in auto crash

Funeral of the long-serving BBC Malawi correspondent Raphael Tenthani who died in an auto crash was held Monday, family said, reports ITRealms.

The 43-year-old and 2010 United Nations (UN) Media Award winner on Millennium Development Goals, Tenthani died after the vehicle he was traveling in overturned near the city of Blantyre late Saturday.

Tenthani was well known across Malawi. He also worked for the Associated Press news agency and local newspapers.

Malawi's President Peter Mutharika said Tenthani would be remembered "as a man of immense talent... eloquence, humour and warmth".

BBC Africa editor Solomon Mugera said: Colleagues across BBC Africa are in deep shock after learning about the passing away of our Malawi reporter Raphael Tenthani. He was a consummate journalist who used his talent to powerfully tell the story of Malawi to the BBC's global audience.

"In addition to being humble, patient and generous, colleagues are also unanimous in their admiration of Raphael's enviable writing skills," Mugera said.
