The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo, has unveiled the ‘Solution Electronic Identification Card’ for civil servants and other government employees of the state, reports ITREALMS.

The event which took place at the Head of Service (HOS), Conference Hall, Awka featured a demo-presentation of the State e-ID card tagged, ‘Solution E-ID card’.

Some defaulters of the Subscribers Identification Module (SIM) card registration regulations in the country have been convicted, reports ITREALMS.

Disclosing this to ITREALMS, the Nigerian Communications Commission said the conviction was in line with the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003, and the Nigerian Communications Commission (Registration of Telephone Subscribers Regulations) 2011.

Further, he noted that FirstBank is also rewarding customers for all transactions done with their Visa Gold and Naira Credit cards this season. 

"Customers can get a percentage of their total spend with FirstBank Visa Gold and Naira Credit cards this season. This promo runs until January 8, 2020," he said.
Ezirim also informed ITREALMS in a press statement available to correspondent that they were pleased to reward customers for the use of their FirstBank Verve, Visa Gold and Naira Credit cards this season. 

"It is our own way of giving our customers more reasons to smile. We encourage our customers to reactivate their FirstBank Verve cards and keep transacting with their Verve, Visa Gold, and Naira Credit cards to enjoy these yuletide benefits from FirstBank," he said.

Ezirim also said that the promo supports the cashless policy whilst assuring customers of the safety and security of their transactions with FirstBank cards.

INEC says over 200,000 Permanent Voters Card ready for collection

The Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that over 200,000 Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) is now ready for collection across the country, reports ITRealms.

The National Commissioner in-charge of the Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC) at INEC, Prince Soyebi Adedeji Solomon made this revelation during a session on Focus Nigeria, a programme of African Independent Television (AIT) monitored in Lagos.

According to him, the completed Permanent Voters Cards are being dispatched to various state headquarters and would be ready for collection by next week.

He insisted that INEC does not distribute voter’s cards to individuals, and advised eligible Nigerians to visit the nearest centre or local government headquarters to collect their permanent voters card.

This, he said, is an ongoing exercise across the country, adding that those who have relocated from where they were when the registration took place, should update their records with INEC office so as to enable them get viable PVC they can use at their current location.

Prince Soyebi further cautioned that double registration is an office before the law and advised people to desist from such act.

INEC improves on card reader for Governorship, State Assembly elections

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Enugu State, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukaogu Thursday in Enugu, assured the Nigerian electorate that the card reader will be more user-friendly in the Governorship and State Assembly elections on Saturday, April11, ITRealms was reliably informed.

Speaking to news men,Onukaogu said that the commission has tasked its team of experts in Information Communications Technology (ICT) to adjust the card-reader to enable it function better than it did in the previous elections.

According to him, the commission is fully prepared for the elections on Saturday and it has taken delivery of sensitive materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), ITRealms reports. He said that the materials have been deployed in the various local government areas in the state.

On issue of security on the day of election he stated "We are going to hold a meeting with the Inter Agency Committee on Election Security (ICES), where we shall look into the complaints we got during the March 28 elections. We shall see if the level of security at the April 11 elections can increase more than that of the Presidential and National Assembly polls.

“We have noted some of the causes for the late arrival of materials and we have signed an agreement with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to ensure early delivery of th e materials,’’ he said.

Reacting to alleged possession of multiple Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by some politicians during the March 28 elections, the REC said the matter is still under investigation.“We have set up a committee to investigate the matter. As soon as it is through with the investigations, we shall make a statement on that,” Onukaogu said.
