A major victory for press freedom and media autonomy, the Media Rights Agenda (MRA) has successfully defended a landmark judgment restraining the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) from arbitrarily imposing fines on radio and television stations, reports ITREALMS.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has struck out the NBC’s Notice of Appeal, describing the regulatory body's legal filing as "fundamentally defective" and legally incompetent.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned both staff and public that they do not use Point of Sales (POS) machines for fines on traffic offices at patrol points, reports 
ITREALMS.
FRSC through its Assisting Corps Marshal, Corps Public Education Officer, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, noted that the explanation became imperative owing to the misrepresentation by a section of the motoring public on the use of the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Electronic Booking Device (E-Tablet).
