The United States Department of State and the Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy would convene over 200 stakeholders, including senior officials from the United States and Africa, private sector executives, civil society members, and academia for a “Global Inclusivity and AI: Africa” conference Nigeria, September 10 – 11 in Lagos. The conference participants, according to the office of the spokesperson, US Public Diplomacy at Lagos Consulate, will discuss the opportunities and challenges in the responsible development, deployment and use of artificial intelligence (AI). The group will also seek to identify and harmonize AI governance strategies between the United States and African nations to enable AI deployments in Africa to be more safe, secure, transparent, and trustworthy.
