Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has made significant changes to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) by dismissing the board chairman, Pius Akinyelure, and the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Mele Kyari, effective April 2, 2025, reports ITREALMS.
This move, according to presidency sources, is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, restoring investor confidence, and driving sectoral reforms.

Confirming this to ITREALMS, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Limited, Mr Olufemi Soneye said these changes reflected the continued dedication to enhancing corporate governance, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring long-term success in Nigeria's energy sector.
