The ‘Catch Them Young’ initiative through the Rivers State All Secondary Schools Quiz Competition will groom a new generation of Nigerians to see tax payment as both duty and the norm, thereby entrenching tax payment culture amongst the citizens.

Education: AfDB votes $11.26m, targets 5,000 girls - ITREALMS

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (www.AfDB.org) has approved a grant of $11.26 million to the Government of Chad to finance the Girls' Education and Women's Literacy Project– the first Bank grant exclusively targeting women and girls.
The project will be financed from the Bank's Transition Support Facility and will be implemented over a five-year period by the Chadian Ministry of National Education and Civic Promotion, in coordination with partners involved in the education sector, civil society organisations, and youth organisations. The Chadian government will contribute a non-monetary contribution of $713,000 towards the program.

Director, Public Affairs at NCC, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, informed ITREALMS that the attention of commission has been drawn to numerous publications in both print and electronic media regarding the unfounded fears of mass disconnection of telephone subscribers as a result of the ongoing linkage of SIM Registration Records with the National Identity Number (NIN).
