NIMC achieves 49% enrolment increase, seeks deeper media collaboration for digital inclusion - ITREALMS

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), has achieved a 49 per cent increase in enrollment in the last three years, and sought for more media collaboration to deepen digital inclusion of Nigerians, reports ITREALMS.
Disclosing these at a two-day workshop with publishers of online newspapers in Lagos, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, who was represented by Director of Information Technology and Identity Database, Engr. Lanre Yusuf, emphasized the critical role of media partners in promoting digital identity awareness and combating misinformation in the country.

NNPC-SNEPCO donate vehicles, ambulance to boost security, healthcare in Lagos - ITREALMS

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPC) and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo) today donated vehicles including a specialised ambulance in support of security and health services in Lagos State. The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) received two vehicles while an intensive care unit ambulance was given to Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPC) and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo) today donated vehicles including a specialised ambulance in support of security and health services in Lagos State. Speaking at the handover of the security vehicles, SNEPCo’s Country Security Manager Isaac Akinjogunla, who represented Managing Director Ronald Adams, said it “underscores our support for efforts by the Lagos State Government to ensure security in the state.” He called for the “careful usage and proper maintenance of the vehicles so that residents can benefit from the donation.”

The full name of this three-year project is “DEcent LIVelihoods for small-scale producers delivered through Economic and Resilient food systems in Nigeria”, and it is being run by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation (EWS-KT), and Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

The Shell companies in Nigeria teamed up with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and other stakeholders to build Information Communication Technology (ICT) centres and a digital library across three Nigerian universities this year in their continuing support for education, reports ITREALMS.Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) and NNPC in collaboration with the Nigerian Content Monitoring and Development Board (NCDMB) launched a digital library at Niger Delta University, Amassoma in Bayelsa State in April, while an ICT centre was commissioned at the Sa’adu Zungur University (formerly Bauchi State University), Gadau in Bauchi State in July, by The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) as part of the Joint Venture with NNPC, TotalEnergies and NAOC.
