Last week, precisely on the 13th of July 2021, some Nigerian soldiers in a shameless display of putrid military barbarism, swooped on the defenceless Igbo spare parts dealers at the popular Ladipo Market, Mushin Lagos and pointedly shot five Igbo traders there dead on the spot on the unfancied allegation that they (soldiers) bought a fake car engine from one of the traders at the market a year ago and had come to the market to have it replaced.

Obi Cubana: Constructive case of associative entrepreneurship - ITREALMS

Commentary@ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

"The other aspect of Obi Cubana's profile that fascinates me is his model of what one might call associative entrepreneurship .... He is at the top of a core group of entrepreneurs who are roughly of his age and are his friends and enablers." - Prof. Moses Ochonu.
As an economic historian who edited a well-received book on entrepreneurship in Africa, the introduction to which argues for the recognition of distinct African entrepreneurial traditions and innovations, I find the case of Obi Cubana (Chief Obinna Iyiegbu) quite fascinating.

Let me first get a few caveats out of the way. I do not endorse his vulgar, exhibitionist, and performative wealth, but I do not judge it either. To each their own. We all operate from different value and ethical scripts, but none is, in the final analysis, inherently superior to the other.

Kehinde David Folarin: Why leadership matters - ITREALMS

ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

In the light of the tremendous stress laid upon the leadership role in both secular and religious worlds, it is a general principle that we can influence and lead others only so far as we ourselves have gone. The person most likely to be successful is the one who leads not by merely pointing the way, but by having trodden it himself. We are leaders to the extent that we inspire others to follow us.
Almost everyone is called to lead in some capacity. A father leads his family, parents lead their children, a teacher leads students, a pastor leads the church, everyone leads someone. The person you follow determines your inspiration and aspirations.
