In a gesture of institutional solidarity, Governor Cardoso dedicated the prestigious honor to the board, management, and the entire workforce of the apex bank, citing their collective commitment to institutional reform and economic stabilization.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, has concluded his participation in the high-level Bretton Woods at 80 Forum, where he represented Africa’s interests on the global financial stage.

The forum, organised by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG), brought together a select group of global leaders at the historic Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, to mark the 80th anniversary of the original conference that established the post-war global financial system.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) along four other deputy governors, reports ITREALMS.

Pending the confirmation of the National Assembly (NASS), the nominations are for a term of five years at the first instance for each of the offices.
