Gov. Oborevwori, Prof. Osunbor to lead dignitaries @Journalism NeXt book launch - ITREALMS Online

ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

A high-powered assembly of governors, legislators, and regulatory chiefs are set to converge in Abuja for the unveiling of “Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism” reports ITREALMS.
The book, authored by Ediri Oyibo, Editor of TheNewsGuru (TNG), is scheduled for official presentation on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Utako, at 2:00 pm.

Leading the distinguished lineup is the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, who serves as the Special Guest of Honour. The occasion will be chaired by former Edo State Governor and eminent legal scholar, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, marking a profound leadership event for the Nigerian media theater.

The book, which serves as a mechanical necessity for practitioners in the digital era, will be reviewed by Dr. Lemmy Ughegbe, Executive Director of the Make A Difference Initiative (MADI). Beyond the book presentation, the event will feature an unblinking recording of research findings on the state of journalism in Nigeria, specifically interrogating the gaps and challenges faced by journalists within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“Journalism NeXt” explores the standardized transformation of the industry, moving past traditional shadows into a landscape defined by:

Media Ethics & Sustainability: Safeguarding the irreducible commitment to truth in a post-truth era.

Digital Innovation: Leveraging the innovation flywheel to stay relevant in a rapidly changing information ecosystem.

Regulatory Stewardship: Aligning practice with the evolving demands of a connected society.

The event will draw heavyweights from the legislative and regulatory sectors, including Senator Ede Dafinone, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, and Senator Ned Nwoko. Also expected are Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, and Dr. Dili Ezughah, CEO of the Nigerian Press Council (NPC), alongside the National President of the NUJ, Comr. Alhassan Yahya Abdul.

The launch of "Journalism NeXt" is more than a book event; it is a platform for robust engagement between media entrepreneurs, policymakers, and academics. As the industry strives to remain fundamentally strong, this guide provides the architectural blueprint for a resilient and trusted media ecosystem.
