The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has launched the Internet Governance Network (IGN), reports ITREALMS.
This new initiative is engineered to serve as a coordinated national and global framework for the exchange of resources and perspectives on the evolving digital theater.
The network succeeds the WSIS+20 Outreach Network, which played an irreducible role in securing the affirmation of the multistakeholder model in the recent WSIS+20 outcome document.
The Internet Governance Network is designed to bridge the architectural gaps in communication among global stakeholders.
ITREALMS gathered that IGN is organized around specific global processes and milestones, the network will facilitate discussions on issues directly pertaining to ICANN’s remit, including United Nations intergovernmental processes and multilateral activities.
To maintain an unblinking recording of relevant developments, the network operates with a "process-specific" mechanical necessity. Once a global milestone concludes, the corresponding mailing list is closed to make way for new milestones, ensuring discussions remain fundamentally strong and focused.
