This was the focus of the second phase of a month-long Employability and Soft Skills training organized for fresh graduates, graduates, and job seekers in Lagos, by the Lagos Island II by Lagos State Lawmaker, Hon. Suleiman 'Lanre Afinni, in partnership with Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) held at Lagos City Centre, Sura.

Speaking on the theme: "Personal Branding and Social Media Optimization," the Director of Programme and Coordination, LSETF, Oyindamola Egbeyemi, emphasized the importance of creating a compelling online profile and CV, highlighting skills over tenure to attract recruiters and maximize visibility.

Oyindamola advised job seekers and entrepreneurs to engage effectively on social media, identifying the platforms that work best for them in terms of their sector and skill set.

She stressed the need to be strategic in putting oneself out there, where employers are looking for specific talents, emphasizing the importance of being professional in outlook, dressing well, and being timely and courteous.

The Head of Special Project, LSETF, Peter Ayobami Okanla, urged youths to build on their personal branding by making themselves marketable in digital footprints like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

He emphasized the need to "clean up your social media footprints" by removing posts that do not align with one's goals and purpose.

Peter also highlighted the importance of associating well on social media, noting that prospective employers look at whom you follow, tag, and comment on.

Participants, including Sofia Agbola and Lasbat Jawando, expressed optimism about the training, describing it as eye-opening and exciting.

They appreciated the opportunity to reposition themselves, create a personal brand, and prepare for the job market.

The training included mock interview sessions, which will culminate in a job fair on July 30, marking the end of the one-month employability training.

Cleaning up old posts is only half of personal branding; young professionals also need a clear body of work that shows what they can do. Short project explainers can help, and tools such as Kling AI Video make it easier to prototype text-to-video or image-to-video examples before publishing a polished portfolio.

Personal branding really starts with consistent visuals, and I like adding retro touches to my profiles. An ASCII Art Generator helps me create unique headers and bio flair that stand out.

This kind of personal-branding push really pays off for young professionals. Cleaning up old posts and tightening your LinkedIn presence helps recruiters take you seriously, and a short video reel or two can round out the profile. For sketching quick visual samples while building that online presence, I found Happyhorse 1.0 surprisingly useful for prototyping short text-to-video or image-to-video clips before publishing. Worth a look for students shaping their personal brand.

This advice really resonates — cleaning up old posts and tightening your bio so recruiters see a consistent story is step one. Beyond polishing the profile, it helps to have a few work samples visible too. For anyone prototyping creative portfolio pieces, I found this <a href="https://musictovideo.org/

Building a clean social media footprint really does shape how recruiters see you — even posts from a few years ago still carry weight. The LSETF training is a good push for young Nigerians who want a stronger professional presence online. For profile visuals I leaned on AI Younger Self Photo Generator

Solid advice on curating a personal brand — the reminder that recruiters really do check your older posts is something young professionals underestimate. Cleaning up timelines is half the work; the other half is showing what you can actually do, like sharing short clips or quick project walkthroughs. If anyone is putting together portfolio pieces, a free in-browser converter like MOV to MP3 makes it easy to grab clean audio from MOV recordings before publishing.

Solid reminder for fresh graduates — cleaning up old posts and being intentional about your digital footprint really shapes how recruiters see you. Visual content matters too, and for polishing short clips before posting on LinkedIn I have been using video upscaler free to lift older footage up to clean 1080p/4K in a few clicks. Worth trying if you are building out a portfolio.

A clean digital footprint really starts with intentional choices about what you post and how you present yourself. Recruiters notice everything from old captions to the kind of accounts you engage with, so taking an afternoon to audit your profiles is well worth it. For anyone refreshing short clips and reels to match a more polished look, I have had good results with Unblur Video.

This is a useful reminder for graduates: a strong online presence can matter as much as a CV, especially on LinkedIn and other public profiles. For anyone looking to improve their digital branding, low quality image tool can help.

Cleaning up old posts is the first step, but a personal brand also needs visuals that look polished. I tried image editor ai to retouch headshots and LinkedIn banners before reworking my profile. It saved me hours of fiddling with Photoshop, and the results look clean enough for recruiters to take seriously.

Cleaning up old posts really is half the personal-brand work — once the timeline reads well, the next thing recruiters notice is whether your profile visuals match the story. Headshots and banners often carry watermarks, captions, or date stamps that drag down an otherwise tidy page. For quick touch-ups before reworking mine I used an image text remover to strip watermarks and stray text without reshooting the photo. Worth keeping in mind for anyone rebuilding their LinkedIn presence.

Totally agree that the timeline clean-up is half the battle. After pruning my old posts and pinning the right projects, the next thing I noticed was how flat my LinkedIn intro felt on camera. I've been playing with motion control ai to animate a still portrait into a short, natural clip for my header, and it reads much more like me than a stock photo.

Good reminder - I cleaned up my old Twitter and Instagram posts before applying last year and it made a real difference when recruiters searched my name. For anyone preparing job-applying photos or LinkedIn headshots, a quick pass through Unblur Image really helps sharpen older profile pictures. Pairing a polished photo with curated posts feels like the cheapest upgrade to a personal brand.

This is a useful reminder that a clean profile is stronger when it also shows concrete work. Short captioned videos can help young professionals explain projects in a format recruiters can scan quickly, especially when captions make the content accessible without sound.
