ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Anambra State, ahead of the off-cycle governorship election, reports
ITREALMS.
The Commission revealed that a total of 168,187 new voters were registered, with 97,832 (58%) being female and 70,355 (42%) male.
The breakdown of the registrants shows that 90,763 (53.97%) are young people aged 18-34, while 62,157 (36.92%) are businessmen and women, and 44,243 (26.31%) are students.

Additionally, 303 registrants have physical impediments, and 207 have albinism.

The next step is to display the preliminary register of new voters for claims and objections, which will take place in all 326 wards in Anambra State from July 26 to August 1, 2025.

After this process, the new registrants will be added to the existing register and published on a polling unit basis.

INEC has assured new registrants that their Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs) will be available for collection ahead of the election, despite the tight timelines with 105 days to the election.

ITREALMS recalled that INEC has received 144 letters of intent from associations seeking registration as political parties, with 10 new letters received recently.

The Commission is evaluating the letters to determine which associations meet the requirements to proceed to the application stage.
