Best entrepreneurs to join CeBIT 2016 - ITU

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has said that the best startups using technology to help with the various issues confronting refugees will be invited to join partners from the German Government at CeBIT, March 14-18, 2016, ITRealms reports.

They will then work together and strengthen their concepts, building better and potentially entirely new startups as a community. The best ideas coming out of CeBIT will join us for ITU Telecom World 2016 in November 2016 to network, showcase and pitch their ideas, participate in workshops, win seed funding, and benefit from a year of ongoing mentorship, ITRealms reports.

According to a press release from the union, migration is one of the greatest global challenges of the 21st century. It comprises both the refugees who are forced to flee their home due to war or cultural or religious oppression and those who leave of their own volition because of economic or ecological reasons.

Each day, ITRealms informs, another 40,000 people around the world leave their home to search for peace and security. Refugees face a unique set of problems.

They need protection, education, food, water, shelter and long term solutions that reunite families, integrating them into new communities or return them safely home. ICTs can help with many of these issues, and should be a key element in improving their lives.
