The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) yesterday presented an Award of Excellence to the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo) Ronald Adams, even as it commended Shell for supporting Nigerian content development in the energy industry.The award which was handed over by PETAN Chairman Wole Ogunsanya during a courtesy call at SNEPCo office, describes the managing director as an “astute and visionary technocrat,” in apparent reference to his efforts to sustain the achievements of SNEPCo in deep-water production since he came into the role in October last year.

Shell has highlighted its pivotal role in Nigeria's oil and gas industry at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) conference in Lagos, with the exhibition featuring Shell's flagship businesses, including Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) and Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG), as well as its partnerships with All On and Daystar Power, reports ITREALMS.
Shell's participation in the conference comes as it received an award for its $5 billion Bonga North project, which is expected to produce 110,000 barrels of oil per day.

“We welcome the reforms by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) which have already improved crude oil production to about 1.75 million barrels per day as reported by the agency,” said Senior Vice President Nigeria Marno de Jong while speaking at a dinner Wednesday night at the Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) in Abuja.

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has restated its commitment to accelerated approvals of requests and documents submitted to it by operating oil and gas companies. The goal is to ensure speedy development of oil and gas projects and contribute to increased oil production and improved national economy. The Executive Secretary NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe gave the assurance on Friday at the Nigerian Content Tower, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State when he received senior officials from Chevron Nigeria Limited led by the Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Cosmas Iwueze.
