FR. DZUNGWE @DECADE: Tribute on faithful vocation and visionary action in priesthood by Iornumbe Stanislaus - Commentary@ITREALMS

The Catholic Church in Nigeria, and indeed the global Christian community, is united in joyful celebration as Rev. Fr. Simon Peter Msughter Dzungwe, S.C., marks the 10th anniversary of his priestly ordination.
FR. DZUNGWE @DECADE: Tribute on faithful vocation and visionary action in priesthood by Iornumbe Stanislaus - Commentary@ITREALMS
A dedicated member of the Congregation of the Servants of Charity (the Guanellians), this milestone is more than a chronological marker; it is a profound testament to a decade of unwavering dedication, spiritual fruitfulness, and visionary service in the Lord's vineyard.

Crucible of Formation: A Global Perspective on Local Need:
Born on January 16, 1985, Fr. Simon hails from Taraku Village, in Gwer East LGA of Benue State—a proud son of the Tiv nation. His journey to the altar was shaped in the rigorous, diverse crucible of Guanellian formation, which saw him traverse Nigeria (Owerri and Ibadan), Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Italy, and Switzerland.

This international exposure did not pull him away from his roots; rather, it enriched his pastoral worldview with global best practices and refined a unique linguistic versatility that would become a central tool in his evangelization.

Ordination: The seal of faithful vocation
On July 30, 2016, a decade of discernment culminated in Christ the King Catholic Church, Makurdi, where Fr. Simon received the sacrament of Holy Orders from the hands of the Most Rev. Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, Bishop of the Makurdi Diocese.

Reflecting today on this transformative decade, Fr. Simon aptly captures its essence not as a personal achievement, but as "ten years of God’s faithfulness, fruitfulness, fulfillment, and growth."

Intellectual advocacy and contextual theology:
Fr. Simon has distinguished himself as a prolific and impactful voice in Catholic thought and spirituality within the Nigerian media landscape. A regular contributor to ITREALMS and other respected Catholic publications, his reflections, homilies, and catechesis offer a deeply scriptural yet profoundly contextual analysis of the contemporary human condition.

His key thematic contributions include:

Lenten Repentance and the Cross: He consistently highlights the transformative power of meditating on the Passion of Christ, presenting liturgical seasons not as rituals, but as dynamic pathways to personal healing and conversion.

Discernment of Vocations: Drawing from figures like the prophet Samuel, he offers inspiring, practical guidance to young people on discerning God’s call in a noisy world.

The Family Unit as a 'Domestic Church': He frequently holds up the Holy Family of Nazareth as the divine paradigm, advocating for domestic prayer, mutual care, and radical obedience to God's will within the home.

Social Justice and Grassroots Activism: Perhaps his most poignant commentary addresses the intersection of faith and society. Fr. Simon challenges oppressive societal structures, encouraging the faithful toward small, collective acts of goodness to combat systemic poverty and foster meaningful change.

Multilingual Bridge-Builder:
Fr. Simon is a singular communicator, possessing the gift of tongues. Fluent in Tiv, English, French, and Hausa, and with working knowledge of Igbo, Lingala, and Italian, he possesses a rare linguistic dexterity. This ability allows him to act as a bridge-builder, connecting intimately with diverse congregations across cultural, ethnic, and national boundaries.

Current Apostolate: Linking priesthood with progress:
Presently, Fr. Simon is embedded in the mission of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala, Benue State, serving as the Priest-in-Charge of St. Peter’s Quasi-Parish, Harga.

Crucially, in true Guanellian fashion, his ministry is inseparable from social and educational development. He serves concurrently as the Administrator of St. Peter’s Nursery and Primary School, and Don Guanellian High School, Harga. This twin commitment demonstrates his holistic vision of priesthood; one that tends to the soul while actively building the minds that will shape the future.

Call to celebration and reflection
As Fr. Simon marks this decennial anniversary, ITREALMS invites the faithful, his friends, and all people of goodwill to honor more than just a man. We honor a dynamic minister of God’s Word, a passionate animator of youth, an ardent preacher, a builder of visionary projects, and a man of prayer and charity.

Fr. Simon Peter Msughter Dzungwe stands as a pacesetter in the modern Nigerian priesthood, a minister whose service is both a memory of faithfulness and an echo of hope for the decades to come.

We join the global Guanellian family in saying: A blessed 10th Priestly Anniversary, Father. May God continue to strengthen your hands and bless your ministry. Keep on with the good work God is doing in and through you.

There was a time when I thought my marriage would end in silence and regret. The distance between us kept growing, and every attempt to fix things only led to more arguments. I felt emotionally drained and ready to give up. Finding Dr. Alaska became a turning point for me. Instead of judgment, I received understanding. Instead of fear, I found hope. Through his guidance and reassurance, the atmosphere in my home gradually improved. My partner reached out, our conversations became calm and meaningful again, and the love we once shared began to grow stronger. Today, we are not just back together we are stronger, wiser, and more connected than before. I am deeply thankful for this second chance and the peace that has been restored in my marriage. God is Good!
I promised God that I would share my testimony on this website. I had all the signs of STD Virus but I was not too sure as to which one. I did a lot of online research and scared myself straight for a whole week before going to see the nurse. She took one look at my genital part and first said that it could just be the anatomy of my body, then she said it looked like genital warts and that I May have herpes. I was devastated. She gave me some medicine for the herpes and some cream for the warts. I was also tested for every single STD including herpes. I went home and cried searching the web for all sorts of cures for herpes and awaiting my results. I saw a post whereby Dr. Kham cured Herpes and other diseases, I copied his contacts out and added him on WhatsApp. The next day my test result was ready and I confirmed Herpes positive. I told Dr. Kham about my health problems and he assured me of a cure. He prepared his herbal medicine and sent it to me. I took it for 14 days (2 weeks). Before the completion of the 14 days in which I completed the dose, The Blisters and Warts that were on my body were cleared. I went back for a check-up and I was told I'm free from the virus. Dr. Kham cures all types of diseases and viruses with the help of his herbal medicine.
