The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Nosakhare Ugbo, has carried out an operational assessment visit to the Headquarters of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), charging field commanders to give priority to the protection of critical communication infrastructure in the North East, reports ITREALMS.
According to him, the assessment covered the installation, maintenance, and safeguarding of communication systems, on-the-spot inspection of projects, and interactions with stakeholders across the theatre.
He emphasized that ICT facilities, communication equipment, and related enablers were central to effective coordination, command, and control in the fight against terrorism.
Maj Gen Ugbo assured OPHK of the continuous support of the Corps of Signals, promising to deliver innovative communication solutions to boost operational effectiveness.
Responding, the Theatre Commander, Maj Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, commended the CCS for his foresight and innovative drive, noting that “communication is the backbone of successful operations.”
He pledged that all ICT assets under OPHK would be safeguarded in the interest of regional and national security.
Earlier, Brig Gen Nelson Okafor, Commander of 57 Signals Brigade, briefed the visiting CCS on ongoing activities, highlighting the deployment of ICT projects and communication equipment across the theatre.

As said by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force North East (OPHK), Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, in a press statement available to ITREALMS, highlighted activities during the visit to include operational briefings, signing of the visitors’ book, exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs with sector and component commanders as well as principal staff officers of OPHK.
