Nigeria ICT media industry mourns veteran broadcaster, Tayo Adewusi - ITREALMS

The Nigeria Information and Communication Technology (ICT) media industry has been thrown into mourning following the passing away of veteran broadcaster and ICT advocate, Mr. Tayo Adewusi, reports ITREALMS.

Adewusi passed on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 54, after a brief illness.

Until his death, he was the Chief Executive Officer of ICT Watch Magazine and TV, where he built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most consistent voices in technology journalism and broadcasting. With a career spanning more than 25 years, he was widely respected for his role in shaping conversations around telecommunications, ICT, and the growth of Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

He was celebrated for his passion for industry development, knowledge expansion, and capacity building in emerging technologies. Over the years, Adewusi received several awards and recognitions for his outstanding contributions to journalism and ICT advocacy, cementing his place as a pioneer and mentor in the sector.

His death is regarded as a major blow to the ICT and media community, particularly at a time when seasoned voices like his are most needed to inspire innovation and uphold professional integrity.

Adewusi is survived by his aged mother and children. The family has requested prayers and support from colleagues and well-wishers during this difficult period. Funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be announced in due course.

With his passing, Nigeria has lost not just a broadcaster and ICT advocate, but also a mentor and visionary whose legacy will continue to inspire the industry for years to come.
