The League of Anambra Professionals (LAP) has launched its Future Forward Scholarship Programme, aimed at providing educational support for indigent but brilliant students of Anambra origin, reports ITREALMS.
According to LAP, the initiative is designed to give talented young people from less privileged backgrounds a fair chance to excel academically and pursue their dreams without the burden of financial constraints.
The scheme, which opens for applications immediately, targets candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, good character, and active participation in extracurricular or community service activities.
The selection process will focus on six major criteria: indigent status of the candidate, outstanding performance in WAEC or JAMB, testimonial of good behaviour from the student’s secondary school or evidence of extracurricular activities and skills, a letter from the town’s traditional ruler or President General confirming indigene status, a one-page personal statement from the candidate explaining their aspirations, and a one-page parental letter describing the child’s character and need for support.
Applications are to be submitted online via a Google form available on the LAP website. The deadline for submission is October 15, 2025, while screening of candidates will conclude by October 30, 2025.
Announcing the scheme, LAP noted that the Future Forward Scholarship Programme is part of its commitment to shaping the future of Ndi Anambra by empowering deserving students to access quality education.
