The Honourable Minister of Communication Technology, Dr. Omobola Johnson,  at the just concluded International Telecommunication Union (ITU)-organised Telecom World conference in Doha led a delegation of dignitaries  to Etisalat stand, reports ITRealms.

ITRealms correspondent gathered that the visit took place shortly after Dr. Johnson finished speaking at the official opening of the Nigerian pavilion which was sponsored in collaboration with Nigeria's most reliable network, Etisalat among other stakeholders.

Dr. Johnson’s entourage at Etisalat stand comprised of ITU Deputy Secretary General who is the incoming Secretary General, Mr. Houlin Zhao and Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Dr. Eugene Juwah, during the visit to Etisalat’s exhibition stand.

She used the occasion to highlight similarities between the theme of the ITU conference “Future in Focus” and the Nigerian government.

“The theme of ITU world 2014 resonates with the Nigerian government as we work to build a better and brighter future for our people. Nigeria has developed key policies and initiatives that have set the foundation for the widespread use of ICT by government and businesses,” she said.

Dr. Johnson also noted that conversations at the ITU Telecom World on key trends, developments, business models and applications will be invaluable in helping us to build a better future in the ICT industry.

ITRealms reports that Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs at Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Ibrahim Dikko in his remarks commended the Ministry and NCC for developing clear policies to guide the industry and promote healthy competition among the operators.
