Themed “Responsible AI Beyond Innovation,” the event is expected to mark a defining chapter in Africa’s technological journey.

Building on the momentum of previous editions, InnovateAI 2026 will spotlight the ethical, security, and governance dimensions of AI as adoption deepens across sectors.

The inaugural InnovateAI 2024, themed “Adapting AI for Nigeria,” drew over 4,000 participants and ignited critical policy discussions.

The 2025 edition, themed “Scaling AI Adoption in Nigeria,” expanded participation to more than 6,000 attendees, with livestreams across twelve AI community hubs nationwide. That conference focused on overcoming barriers to adoption such as talent, data, and infrastructure.

Now, the 2026 edition shifts from adoption to responsibility, exploring the principles that will ensure AI’s sustainable and trustworthy growth in Africa.

ITREALMS also gathered that highlights will include AI Governance in Africa – Crafting frameworks for trust and accountability; Deepfakes, Fraud & Security Risks – Protecting Nigeria’s digital society; AI & Financial Services – Building resilience against fraud and securing transactions; Digital Literacy for All – Empowering citizens for the age of AI; Responsible AI Innovation – Balancing growth with safety to support Africa’s startup ecosystem.

“AI is transforming industries and societies at an unprecedented pace, but innovation without trust risks leaving people behind. InnovateAI 2026 will ensure Africa defines its own AI future—one grounded in ethics, inclusivity, and safety,” said Ehia Erhaboh, Co-Convener, AI in Nigeria.

The conference will convene policymakers, business leaders, researchers, and the public to chart a path where AI serves as a force for good—fostering inclusion, improving healthcare, and enabling smarter governance.

Organizations are invited to partner or sponsor the event to showcase leadership in the responsible AI movement and gain visibility among key stakeholders, innovators, and investors.

“This is not just a conference; it’s a catalyst for shaping Africa’s digital future,” said Dotun Adeoye, Co-Convener, AI in Nigeria. “Together with our partners, we can build a more equitable, secure, and prosperous AI ecosystem for Nigeria and beyond.”

ITREALMS recalls that AI in Nigeria is a collective of visionary leaders and tech advocates working to position Nigeria at the forefront of the global AI revolution.

Its mission is to localize, scale, and responsibly integrate AI solutions across sectors, while driving policy advocacy and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
