The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) recently held the inaugural Champions of Nigerian Content Awards in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, reports ITREALMS.
The event, organized in partnership with Sweetcrude Ltd, recognized individuals and corporate bodies that have made significant contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria's oil and gas industry.
ITREALMS gathered that the Lifetime Achievement Award went to the former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for his role in signing the Nigerian Content Bill into law in 2010.
During his acceptance speech, Dr. Jonathan recalled his encounter with the Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, which motivated him to domesticate and domicile oil and gas industry activities in Nigeria, citing China's example.
Other notable winners included Engr Attah as the Nigerian Content Icon of the Year, for securing the Final Investment Decision (FID) for NLNG Train 7 project and partnering with NCDMB to sign the first Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Iroghama Ogbeifun, took the stage of honour to receive the Women in Leadership award while the Nigerian Content Innovator of the Year went to Professor Emenike Ejiogu of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) among other corporate awardees.
