NPIJ offers a series of practical, industry-aligned diploma and certificate programs designed to prepare students for the rapidly changing media landscape. These include a Diploma in Journalism & Media Studies, a Certificate in Mass Communication & Media Practice, a Certificate in Content Creation (English Language), and a Certificate in Content Creation (Hausa Language).
To ensure institutional integrity, academic quality, and industry relevance, NPIJ is led by a governing board comprising distinguished journalists, legal experts, business executives, and academics.
The leadership team is spearheaded by Dr. Hassan Gimba, ANIPR, an award-winning Nigerian journalist, public commentator, online publisher, and author of over 1,000 published essays on politics, good governance, and national security. Supporting him on the advisory leadership are Garba Mamu, Chairman of the Advisory Board, a seasoned media administrator and former General Manager and Executive Director at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA); Shu’aibu Usman Leman, Vice Chairman 1, a media researcher and former National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ); Shettima Bukar Imam, Vice Chairman 2 and Executive Vice Chairman of Cleanergy Innovation Ltd; and Suleiman Gimba Hassan, Esq., Vice Chairman 3, a legal practitioner, legislative advocate, and Managing Director of BoldBrick Smart Homes.
Other distinguished members of the governing and advisory board include Danlami R. Nmodu, mni, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Newsdiaryonline and President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP); Dr. Rachael O. Ojeka-John, a communication researcher and specialist in journalism and health reporting; Dr. Saleh Mari Maina, a veteran editor with three decades of media and university-level journalism teaching experience; Halima Abdulrauf, Founder/CEO of S24 Media Services; Charles Onunaiju, a leading scholar and commentator on China–Africa relations; Amina Musa Kida, a legal professional with expertise in banking and international relations; Mohammed Salisu Adamu, an entrepreneur and former Nigeria Customs Service officer; and Engr.
