The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is set to lead the delegation of industry heavyweights to discuss and execute far-reaching decisions at the event. Grounded in the timely theme, “Bridging Nigeria’s Digital Divide With Scientific Innovation,” the forum has already attracted significant corporate backing.
Prominent organizations partnering with NITRA for this edition include global mobile communications giant Tecno, Africa’s premier end-to-end AI solutions firm Hyperspace, and leading telecommunications data infrastructure provider Digital Realty.

He noted that delegates will deliberate extensively on national policies surrounding scientific innovations, existing industry challenges, the balance between indigenous and foreign collaborations, the distinct roles of various stakeholders, and strategies for grassroots development.
Onwuegbuchi further explained that the Federal Government, through various targeted programs and partnerships, has recognized the critical need to cultivate an ecosystem thriving on scientific innovation.
This approach aims to breed institutions and individuals capable of placing Nigeria at the forefront of next-generation global development.
He stressed that digital and scientific advancements are no longer optional luxuries but are fundamental to national survival and sustainable growth, heavily impacting economic strength, global reputation, defense, public health, and the country's broader digital footprint.
This drive, he said, aligns closely with active federal efforts to leverage scientific innovation for economic diversification, supporting the ambitious target of building a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
Current national strategies focus on commercializing local research, setting up substantial research funds, and financing strategic infrastructure across technology, biotechnology, and healthcare.
Central to these efforts are initiatives like the newly instituted National Research and Innovation Development Fund (NRIDF), which targets mobilizing approximately $500 million annually, and the pioneering Nigeria Genomic City initiative, designed to transform the nation into a hub for precision medicine while safeguarding indigenous data and stimulating AI integration in health.
Adding to this, the General Secretary of NITRA, Mr. Chidiebere Nwankwo, pointed out that the forum will serve as a vital vehicle for transmitting the insights of industry decision-makers to the general public.
By boosting public awareness and information dissemination, the conference will focus intensely on how Nigeria can sustain its digital growth trajectory and foster long-term scientific development.
