The PAVE Network, in partnership with the National Counter Terrorism Centre under the Office of the National Security Adviser (NCTC-ONSA), and other key stakeholders, are set to convene at the North West PCVE Summit, reports ITREALMS.
According to Jaye Gaskia, Chair of the Development and Management Team, PCVE Knowledge Innovation and Resource Hub, the summit aims to articulate a cohesive regional framework for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) in the North West.
This framework, Gaskia said, will refine state-specific plans and align them with national priorities.
Gaskia also emphasized that the summit is a crucial step in organizing the region's response to violent extremism, stating, "The threats posed by violent extremism in the North West require urgent, innovative, and collaborative responses. This Summit is not just a meeting; it is a turning point in how we build resilience and sustain peace."
The summit, ITREALMS gathered will focus on refining draft PCVE state plans for the seven North West states, identifying state-specific and regional priorities, and shaping a regional PCVE response framework.
The expected outcomes, ITREALMS also gathered, include fine-tuning state PCVE plans, achieving a regional consensus on coordinated responses, and increasing awareness of specific threats and responses to violent extremism across the North West.
The summit is organized by the PCVE Knowledge, Innovation and Resource Hub (KIRH) and the PAVE Network, in collaboration with NCTC-ONSA, and is supported by NEYIF and funded by the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF).
