According to the brand, the idea of the song is to challenge our youth across the world on the need to be at the driver seat of their destiny.

Smart single fibre fusion splicer, 41S debuts - ITREALMS

Latest single fibre active cladding alignment fusion splicer, 41S, designed for Fiber To The X (FTTx) .applications, has made a debut, reports ITRealms.

FTTX is defined as all possible optical fiber topologies from a telecom or cable carrier to its customers, based on the location of the fiber's termination point

The next-generation smart 41S splicer, ITRealms gathered would boast innovative features in a compact and robust package, especially for operators to save time and cost with the new wireless solution.

ITRealms gathered that Fujikura Europe launched the service, stressing that wirelessly connecting to the CT50 fibre cleaver using Bluetooth technology, the 41S enables a range of pioneering functions that will improve the overall installation time, cost and efficiency for operators.

Compared to its predecessor the 22S, the 41S has been upgraded and offers installers the convenience of a 5” colour touch-panel display, improved v-groove illumination and the benefit of easy splice protector positioning. The machine re-assures users of reliable splice results using CORE loss estimation using Warm Image Splicing Technology.

The issue of poor fibre cleaving due to worn, incorrectly adjusted or damaged cleaver blades is conveniently dealt with. When the 41S detects a high cleave angle or bad end shape, it sends a blade position change instruction to the cleaver. The CT50 cleaver then rotates the cleaver blade automatically to the next position, restoring optimum cleaving performance.

By utilising the low radio power of Bluetooth technology, other equipment nearby will not be interfered with. Operators can benefit from the “always on” technology due to the low power consumption of the Bluetooth, which means that batteries can last for several months.

“To ensure optimum results, fibres need to be spliced in a safe, hassle-free and efficient manner to avoid unnecessary, extra work for operators,” said Neil Bessant at Fujikura Europe. “Cleaving fibres using a cleaver without the benefit of wireless connectivity for an operator is a tricky, and often a less than successful game to play. If multiple errors are made it leads to increased costs to replace the fibres, as well as lost time and ultimately a decrease in overall optical performance.

“Our latest addition to the splicing family, the 41S, is flexible, smart and efficient and therefore makes a huge difference to this process. The easy-to-handle qualities of the solution means quick and simple splicing, with performance never being compromised.”

In addition to cleave performance, the smart splicer can also wirelessly monitor battery and power usage of the CT50 cleaver. The 41S comes enabled with a touch screen menu as standard, but also maintains the traditional easy-to-use hard button navigation system. The splicer retains all of the unique, class-leading features from the current high-performance flagship line-up of Fujikura splicers, including: quick splice and heat times, fully ruggedized features, and user customizable settings.

The 41S, along with a full range of Fujikura Europe’s fibre optic solutions, will first be displayed at ECOC (European Conference on Optical Communication) in Rome, Italy from the 24th – 26th September 2018

OELA single debuts with SufferingNoMore

Stage is now set for new arrival on Friday, April 27, 2018 when OELA music brand will drop an R&B single titled, ‘Suffering No More’ to inspire the world to overcome all impossibilities, reports ITRealms.

The song to be available for download on iTunes, Apple Music, YouTube and over 30 other channels was inspired by the need to understand that suffering in Africa and many other parts of the world is not destined, neither a cross to bear, but due to a wrong mindset about who we are.

OELA, the Nigerian based Artist in the song takes the world through a journey of self-consciousness about injustice that breeds suffering with people complaining about lacks and limitations, stagnation, no job, no food, no light, no house, no money to spend!

Of course, as people are yearning for freedom and justice, the common targets of blame for their woes are the rich and the authorities.

The song writer, Segun Adeleye said music is one of the most powerful tools one can use to inspire the world to become a better place because while in the mood of relaxation and enjoyment, music will pass the message with a lasting impact.

He made a reference to the United Support of Artists (USA) for Africa song, ‘We are the World’ in 1985 by Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie and other top global artists, saying besides its financial success, millions of people around the world were inspired by the call to care for the less privileges.

According to Adeleye, suffering is real and it’s an injustice, as many are perpetually trapped, but it should not be that way if people know who they are in the context of what to do, their duties to fellow human beings in a world where lack and abundance live side by side.

He said the message in the song is for human beings to be conscious that they are created to reject any situation they don’t like and follow the right principle of God to prosper, multiply and dominate.

“It is for people to realise that their lives could not have been by accidents, they should seek and know their purpose, they should refuse to be angry and suffer, but replace the lacks in their minds with all the precious and pleasant riches of the world,” he said.

Mr 2kay single 'Banging' debuts, features Reekado Banks

Barely a few days to the release of his upcoming sophomore album - ELEVATED, Mr 2Kay has released a new single titled “Banging” featuring Mavin Records star, Reekado Banks, reports ITRealms.

According to Mr. 2Kay “Banging,” produced by Saintlizzle is literally a ‘banging’ song, stressing that it is a song that would effortlessly make its way to the dance floor.

CBN to adopt single window on forex in August

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has adopted a single window corridor for all foreign exchange transaction in the country beginning from August 1, 2016, reports ITRealms.

A circular to this effect to banks and endorsed by Director, Financial Market Department (FMD), Dr. Alvan Ikoku, said the CBN’s action will engender transparency and professionalism in the Nigerian foreign exchange market.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria hereby directs that all FX related trades by Authorised Dealers (Banks) and Corporate Institutions in the Nigerian FX market, with effect from Monday, August 1, 2016 must be executed through the FMDQ-advised FX trading Auction and Surveillance Systems,” part of the circular read.

ITRealms also gathered that this was in a bid to stabilize the naira, CBN had in June adopted a flexible foreign exchange policy.

Ikoku explained that in adopting the new policy, CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele assured that the policy would guarantee improved access to foreign exchange for businesses.

Emefiele was quoted as saying, “After assessing the various risk profiles available, the committee resolved to adopt the least risky option by adopting a flexible foreign exchange policy to restore the automatic adjustment properties of the exchange rate. It is time to introduce greater flexibility in the management of FOREX market.”

Further, ITRealms reports that the circular insisted that deployment of the FMDQ-advised FX systems will only be to those corporates that have been screened and pre-approved by FMDQ in line with its on-boarding eligibility criteria.

“Therefore, all Authorised Dealers (i.e banks) are to execute all FX trades among themselves and with their clients (Corporate Institutions) through the FMDQ-advised FX systems,” CBN insisted.

There’s no single best-fit model for multistakeholder governance groups -Study

The latest study by the Global Network of Internet and Society Centers on Multistakeholder as governance groups, has revealed there is no single best-fit model for multistakeholder governance groups, reports ITRealms.

The Executive Director, Berkman Center and Harvard Law School Professor of Practice, Urs Gasser, 

who led the international effort on the study, declared to ITRealms that multistakeholder groups are at cross-road when it comes to the global governance of the Internet, where issues must not only be responded to complex technical challenges, but also deal with a broad range of policy issues ranging from cybersecurity to net neutrality and human rights.

"This collaborative research wants to strengthen the evidence-base as we search for future governance models that preserve the generativity and openness of the Internet, while also addressing pressing challenges and problems," he said.

Gasser also said that at a point where the future of Internet governance is being re-envisioned, the report deepened the understanding of the formation, operation, and critical success factors of governance groups. 

ITRealms reports that the study concluded by stated in part that:

“there is no single best-fit model for multistakeholder governance groups that can be applied in all instances. Rather, it reveals a range of approaches, mechanisms, and tools available for both the formation and operation of such groups. The analysis demonstrates that the success of governance groups depends to a large degree on the careful selection, deployment, and management of suitable instruments from this ‘toolbox’. As governance groups pass through different phases of operation, conveners and facilitators must remain alert to changes in circumstances that necessitate adjustments to the approaches, mechanisms, and tools that they deploy in order to address evolving challenges from inside and from outside. The case study series provides insights into how those instruments can be deployed and adjusted over time within such groups, and highlights how their interactions with important contextual factors may be successfully managed within given resource restraints.”

Other key observations from the study, as further described in the synthesis paper, include:

•             Inclusiveness (including mechanisms for participation) and transparency are critical factors to be managed and adjusted throughout the lifecycle of governance groups.

•             How governance groups define accountability and legitimacy is highly reflective of and dependent on contextual factors.

•             Different governance groups have different measures of success and effectiveness that are tied to their unique contexts and to factors that change over time.

The report is the first study by the recently launched Global Network of Internet and Society Centers, which brings together over 30 academic institutions from around the globe. As a milestone, it demonstrates that a global network of academic research centers can create a shared repository of timely and relevant research, which includes peer-reviewed methodologies and adherence to academic standards, open data, and expertise on diverse issues related to global policy debates.  

More broadly, the Network of Centers seeks to contribute to a more generalized vision and longer-term strategy for academia regarding its roles in research, facilitation and convening, and education in and communication about the Internet age.

Grasser was joined in the study by Ryan Budish, Harvard University - Berkman Center for Internet & Society, and Sarah Myers West University of Southern California - Annenberg School for Communication.
