“This can happen in Lagos. This can happen anywhere,” he declared.
This could take off with the appointment of focused advocate to be in-charge of social media as visible in Anambra State.

He cited for instance that on Twitter, Anambra State Government has launched “#TweetAnambra”, a daily 2 hours of constant tweets aimed at sharing the events of the day to the Twitter community.

On WhatsApp, he said, the government of Anambra State has a grassroots network of 32,600 persons through which Ndi Anambra are directly informed and feedback received for improved efficiency and better service delivery.

Biafran protesters not welcome in Lagos - APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has warned that Biafran protesters are not welcomed in the centre of excellence, reports ITRealms.

The spokesman for Lagos APC, Mr. Joe Igbokwe gave this warning in a press statement made available to ITRealms on Tuesday, saying that  those planning to hold demonstration in Lagos under the aegis of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Describing such demonstration as nefarious, Igbokwe said the party states that with the heightened security challenges Lagos is facing, it will be foolhardy for any group to hide under the guise of protest to compromise the security of the state and be allowed such privilege.

Igbokwe also said, there is no way the state will sit idly by and allow politically sponsored hoodlums, masquerading as Pro-Biafran protesters or any group at all to compromise the security of the state where the state has invested hugely in recent times.

APC equally warned that the security agencies led by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Mr Fatai Owoseni have vowed to deal ruthlessly with anybody or group found to be involved in such protests.

“We hope the will of the Law Enforcement Agencies in Lagos will not be tested at a time like this,” Igbokwe said.

Stressing that as a party that governs Lagos State, APC would be derelict to watch a group of politically- sponsored hoodlums tamper with the tight security system that has been effortlessly put in place by the state government to combat increasing crime rates in the domain.

“We cannot allow these hoodlums, sponsored by politicians that failed woefully in the last general election, to unleash mayhem on peace loving Lagosians so as to achieve dark political aims that run parallel to the interests of Lagosians,” Igbokwe said.

APC maintained that it is obvious that the sponsors of the planned protest want to throw the state into needless mayhem by their act but the state will be ready to mete out to them the appropriate antidotes for such folly.

Six years’ blackout: Reps order EEC to restore power to Seme border

The House of Representatives has ordered restoration of power supply to the Seme area of Badagry in Lagos State byNigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission after six years of blackout,ITRealms reports.

The proposition of the federal lawmakers was an outcome of a motion raised by the member representing Badagry Federal Constituency, Mr. Joseph Hontonyon-Bamgbose.

Hontonyon-Bamgbose, in a statement issued on his behalf by his Special Assistant (Media and Communications), MauhoHungbo, Sunday, in Abuja, informed his colleagues that Seme border, which is the nation's major route to other West African countries and one of the major land borders generating revenue for the  nation has been in total blackout for about six years.

He explained that the situation has led to an upsurge in criminal activities especially smuggling and a decline in economic ventures with an attendant hardship on the residents. He was of the view that the deplorable state of the road was causing hardship to residents of nearby communities and giving bad impression of the country to diplomats of neighbouring countries who ply the road for tourism and other official duties.

The House unanimously consented that the restoration of electricity to Seme area would reduce smuggling of contrabands thereby improving revenue of the government and the well being of the people. The lawmaker also informed the House of the deplorable state of the Lagos-Badagry express way constructed in 1971.

Hon. Bamgbose expressed concern that for more than 40 years no major rehabilitation work had been carried out on the road which is a key revenue points among land borders in Nigeria as it connects three borders namely, Seme, Owode-Asheri and Palshie borders.

APC Lagos mourns Mama Awolowo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has described the death of the Matriarch of the Awolowo family, Mama Hannah Awolowo, as the closure of a glorious chapter in a progressive family that impacted positively on the lives of many Nigerian, ITRealms reports.

The Publicity Secretary, Lagos APC, Joe Igbokwe in a press statement made available to ITRealms said that Mama Awolowo lived a fruitful life that will remain indelible not only in the history of the country but on the many lives that were positively impacted through her actions.

They also noted that Mama Awolowo complimented her husband's progressive ideals to leave remarkable footprints on the Nigerian polity, describing her as a hallmark of matrimonial and ideological fidelity, which served the nation well as she lived her glorious life to an end.

"We are saddened that Mama Awolowo died just as the fruits of progressivism yielded after several decades of reactionary dominance of the country's politics and the corrosive effects it has had on a country that is richly blessed with both human and natural resources. We see Mama Awolowo as living a fulfilled life because, in her lifetime, progressivism, for which she suffered and was persecuted with her husband, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, became the dominance ideology of the government in power at the center. We have no doubt that Mama Awolowo breathed a sigh of relief with the progressive ouster of reactionary politics got which she and her husband suffered greatly to achieve,” APC spokesman in Lagos said.

The party equally said that Mama Awolowo was a study in perseverance and patience as she stood solidly behind her husband in the days of dangerous politicking in the country.

“She remained firm, unshakeable and constant in the many years of struggle for the enthronement of progressive regime in the country and served as a guiding light to the struggle which yielded handsomely on March 28, 2015. She stood with her husband through the pains and anguishes of fighting for a better Nigeria and remains a yardstick for matrimonial fidelity till death,” Igbokwe said.

Lagos APC further said has no doubt that Mama Awolowo lived a happy and fulfilled life, which obtains in the significant impact she and her husband left in the lives of many Nigerians that drank from the flourishing well of achievements.

APC stressed that they still believe that Mama Awolowo had immeasurable wealth of experience to impart at the time of her death so we mourn her irreparable loss, reiterating that her death is a huge loss to the Nigerian progressive family and the entire Nigerian nation.

"We pray God to grant her soul eternal rest and console her family, friends, associates and Nigerians who stand to lose tremendously from her demise," APC prayed.

PDP is ridiculing self before Lagosians - APC

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state is ridiculing self before Lagosians, reports ITRealms.

The Publicity Secretary, Lagos State APC Mr. Joe Igbokwe said in a press statement made available to ITRealms that PDP in Lagos has constituted itself into public nuisance with ridiculous noise, mostly about the performance of the Governor Akin Ambode’s regime.

Also, the party said that PDP is hurt badly by after-polls blues following the alleged grand failure of its extensive and expansive plot to steal Lagos in April 2015.

Igbokwe equally said Lagos PDP is not reasoning well on either what performance is or what is going on in a Lagos it has experienced unending frustration and pains of defeat as it prepares for the political grave.

APC further said that PDP cannot recognize achievement when it sees one and wonders how a party that wrecked Nigeria in 16 years of disastrous leadership could assess performance of a party that has taken Lagos to new heights as one of the few mega cities of the world.
