Anambra State has once again asserted its dominance in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem, securing four major awards at the 13th Meeting of the National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE), reports ITREALMS.
Held at the Crispan Suite & Event Centre in Jos, Plateau State, from December 8–12, 2025, the event convened federal and state stakeholders to evaluate progress under the theme, “Accelerating Inclusive Digital Transformation: Bridging Gaps and Fostering Sustainable Growth Through Innovation.”
A defining moment of the Council was the States Innovation Peer Review Session (PRS), where sub-national governments presented their scorecards on digital transformation.
Following a rigorous evaluation of success stories, infrastructure growth, and governance reforms, Anambra emerged as a top-tier performer, distinguishing itself through the practical application of ICT to enhance service delivery and governance.
The state’s strategic focus on technology yielded exceptional results, with Anambra claiming the top prize as the Best Overall Performing State in ICT Development.
Additionally, the state was recognized as the Winner for Best State in ICT Human Capital Development, while also securing podium finishes as the 2nd Runner-Up in both Infrastructure Development and eGovernment Implementation.
This comprehensive sweep validates the "Smart Mega City" roadmap of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
The administration’s aggressive broadband expansion, digital skills programs, and digitization of government services have successfully transitioned from policy to tangible results, demonstrating what is possible when political will guides precise execution.
Receiving the awards on behalf of the Governor, the MD/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), attributed the success to the enabling environment driving the state’s "Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere" mantra.
He noted that the recognition is another clear validation of Governor Soludo's vision and a reflection of the hard work, collaboration, and commitment of the entire Solution Team.
Agbata emphasized that Anambra remains intentional about leveraging technology to improve lives, strengthen institutions, and create opportunities.
This marks the second consecutive time Anambra has swept four major national awards at the NCCIDE, following a similar feat in 2023.
This consistency underscores the state’s sustained leadership in eGovernment implementation, human capital development, and infrastructure growth, proving that purposeful leadership can accelerate inclusive growth.
