... PEBEC DG Commends Board’s Tech-Driven Reforms for Minimizing Human Interference in Operations
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has cemented its status as a champion of digital transformation in public service, winning the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) Transparency and Efficiency Champion Award for the fourth consecutive year, reports ITREALMS.
The prestigious award, presented on December 2, 2025, at the State House in Abuja, underscores the NCDMB's consistent operational excellence, particularly its focus on digitization, transparency, and quality service delivery to industry stakeholders.
The NCDMB's sustained success is directly linked to its aggressive adoption of technology to streamline regulatory processes within the oil and gas sector.
PEBEC Director General, Princess Zarah Audu, specifically commended the Board for automating processes to minimize human interference.
This critical move reduces bureaucratic bottlenecks, eliminates opportunities for rent-seeking, and ensures predictable service timelines—all cornerstones of effective Ease of Doing Business reforms.
The automation efforts under Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe have seen significant streamlining of the contract approval process, including the reduction of NCDMB's touchpoints in the contracting cycle, which enhances the competitiveness of the Nigerian industry in line with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010.
Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, represented by Acting Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr. Omomehin Ajimijaye, highlighted the Board’s steadfast alignment with national policy reforms and commitment to achieving management goals through teamwork.
The Board also received the Reform Champion Award, which was personally presented to Engr. Cityfaith Baribor Zorasi for exceptional performance as NCDMB’s key liaison to PEBEC.
The NCDMB remains committed to strengthening service delivery, advancing local industry growth, and raising standards in the years ahead through continuous investment in digital platforms and transparent regulatory practices.
