Paystack co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, has been sacked binge company board of directors, effective Saturday November 22, 2025, reports ITREALMS.
Confirming this in a follow up Tweet on Sunday, Olubi said his employment was terminated by the company’s Board of Directors under circumstances he describes as premature, unfair, and inconsistent with internal policy.
In a personal statement published on November 23, 2025, Olubi disclosed that his suspension and a subsequent “independent investigation” were triggered by information circulating online over the past week—material which he says misrepresented his character and professional conduct.
He noted that he refrained from public statements during the process to avoid influencing the investigation, a silence he believes created room for speculation and damaging assumptions.
According to Olubi, despite his cooperation and long history with the company he helped build, the Board communicated his termination on Saturday, November 22, before the investigation had concluded and without granting him a meeting, hearing, or opportunity to respond to the allegations.
He described the move as a clear breach of both his suspension terms and Paystack’s internal procedures.
Olubi stressed that the allegations being discussed online do not reflect his personal or professional conduct, saying he has consistently acted in ways that respect dignity and safety.
He emphasized his role in creating the internal systems and processes the company relies on, adding that he engaged with the inquiry in good faith.
His legal team, he said, is reviewing the circumstances of the termination and assessing the Board’s adherence to established policies. Olubi added that he would not be making further comments as legal review proceeds.
Paystack, one of Africa’s leading fintech companies, has not yet issued a public response regarding the claims surrounding the suspension or termination.
