The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has launched a major inquiry into widespread consumer complaints against leading players in the banking, telecommunications, and aviation sectors, with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), MTN Nigeria and AirPeace on spotlight respectively, over alleged violations, reports ITREALMS.
Director, Corporate Affairs, FCCPC, Ondaje Ijagwu, informed ITREALMS on Sunday that the inquisitions, would commence on Tuesday, December 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively, are intended to address issues of poor service delivery, exploitative practices, and potential consumer rights violations.
Leading pan-African digital rights and inclusion organisation, the Paradigm Initiative (PIN), has called on the Senegalese Government to immediately restore Internet and social media platforms in the country, reports ITREALMS.
This follows multiple breaches of Senegalese citizens' digital rights and data privacy in the past few months, with the latest being on Thursday, June 1st, 2023.
