Official! Sujimoto CEO defrauds Enugu State govt N5.7bn - ITREALMS

The Enugu State Government has accused the CEO of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, Olasijibomi Ogundele, of defrauding the state of nearly N6bn, noting that Ogundele vanished into thin air after he was paid the said sum for the construction of 22 Smart Green Schools in different parts of the state.

The government also accused Ogundele of premeditated fraud, explaining that while he presented a bond issued by Jaiz Bank to secure the contract, he used the company’s Zenith Bank account registered with the state’s Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to receive the said payment, making it impossible for the state to hold Jaiz Bank liable.

The Media Rights Agenda (MRA) has condemned the harassment of the leader of a citizens group by the Department of State Services (DSS) for exercising their fundamental right to request information from the government under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, 2011, describing the act of intimidation as unlawful and aimed at undermining the very principles of transparency and accountability that the Act is designed to uphold.

The annual science quiz competition sponsored by Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) in Rivers State concluded on Saturday with Government Secondary School Oyigbo emerging as the champions in the senior secondary school S.S. 2 category.

This year’s contest centred on the theme “Artificial Intelligence (AI): Innovating the Future.” The quiz was open to students in S.S. 1 and S.S. 2 across secondary schools in Rivers State. Government Secondary School Oyigbo triumphed over six other finalists in the grand finale. Bonny National Grammar School and Niger Delta Science School, Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt, secured second and third places, respectively. The remaining finalists were Birabi Memorial Grammar School, Bori (4th place); Community secondary school oroworukwo (5th place); Community secondary school Ogbogbo, Okrika (6th place); and Enitonna High School Borikiri, Port Harcourt. Sophos, a global leader of innovative security solutions that defeat cyberattacks, today released additional findings from its annual “State of Ransomware 2024” survey. According to the report, among organizations surveyed, 97% of those hit by ransomware over the past year engaged with law enforcement and/or official government bodies for help with the attack.
In addition, more than half (59%) of those organizations that did engage with law enforcement found the process easy or somewhat easy. Only 10% of those surveyed said the process was  very difficult.
