NIPR postpones annual PRICE awards to January 25, 2026 - ITREALMS

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has announced the postponement of its maiden annual Public Relations, Reputation, Ideas, Concepts and Excellence (PRICE) Awards and Prizes to January 25, 2026, as reported by ITREALMS Online.

The awards were originally scheduled to take place on December 7, 2025.

The core reason for the postponement, 
ITREALMS gathered, is to ensure full participation and that "no one is left behind," since the observance of Christmas seems to have commenced much earlier for some of the NIPR's critical stakeholders.

The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) has received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Mallam Bashir Chedi, a distinguished member of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), at the age of 65, reports ITREALMS.

The National body of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Journalists under the aegis of the Nigeria Information Technology Reporters Association (NITRA) in Lagos, has applauded the stride in attainment of Fellowship position conferred on two management staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The Fellowship investiture to the duo of Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Reuben Muoka, and Head, Media Relations in the Public Affairs Department, Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, has been described as a call to duty, as it places them on the pedestal of being reference points to anyone ascribing to PR professionalism in Nigeria.

Iworiso-Markson hosts NIPR Exco, tasks on practitioners patronage

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson has tasked members of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in the state to raise their act in order to attract desired patronage, reports ITRealms.

According to him, as public relations practitioners, NIPR must be more visible through regular activities and public interest programmes.

Iworiso Markson, a renowned Public Relations practitioner himself, gave the advice during a courtesy call on him by members of the NIPR, Bayelsa State Chapter.

He also charged them to voice their views on the developmental strides of the present administration, which he described as a watershed in the history of the state.

He urged NIPR as a credible voice not to shy away from telling the success story of restoration Government on-going in the state.

As a senior member of the institute, Iworiso-Markson said he will be working with the leadership of NIPR to ensure that the organization claim its pride of place. 

Earlier, the Chairman of the State Chapter of NIPR, Prince Sherif Hussain Enebi had congratulated the commissioner for the professional way he has performed his responsibilities since his foray into the public service.

Prince Enebi acknowledged the recognition that the institute had received from the state government since the appointment of Mr. Iworiso Markson and called for closer ties between the state Ministry of Information and the NIPR for effective rebranding of the state.

Ojobo bags NIPR Presidential award

The spokesman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Tony Ojobo, has been selected as receipient of the 2017 Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Presidential Award, reports ITRealms.

Affirming the conferment of this prestigious award, NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Rotimi Oladele said the award is given “in recognition of your sterling leadership qualities, outstanding contributions towards the development of the Public Relations practice and support for industry advancement.”

ITRealms gathered that the award ceremony will climax the yearly Presidential Dinner billed for Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday.

Describing Ojobo as the iconic Director, Public Affairs at the NCC, who has brought finesse and vitality to professionalism in his day to day handling of issues in Nigeria’s fastest growing sector, “telecommunication and information technology commenting and communicating in everyday language in the public as matters arise.”

ITRealms recalls that a few weeks ago, Ojobo was honoured by his alma mater the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), with an award of Excellence at a ceremony tagged Alumni Home coming and 32nd Anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Management of the University.

The Faculty Board in its notification to Ojobo said they “proudly took the decision to bestow the award on you in cognizance of your remarkable achievements in life, especially in your chosen career as a renowned technocrat and public servant, hence the award of excellence”.

Adeyemo earns award for public relations development





The Public Relations Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Mr. Shola Adeyemo has been honoured for his contributions to the development of public relations by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Capital Chapter, ITRealms reports.

Known as Outstanding Performance Award, Adeyemo earned the recognition based on his innovative roles in public relations in Nigeria and the hospitality industry in particular. The award was presented to him at the 26th Annual General Meeting/Conference of NIPR Capital Chapter which was held in October.

In a citation for the award, ITRealms gathered, the NIPR stated that Mr. Adeyemo was being honoureded for his “outstanding personal attributes which he has harnessed over the years to lead a robust Public Relations Department in Transcorp Hilton Abuja., in addition to his consistent display of passion for the Public relations profession”.

 The Institute also highlighted his exemplary leadership skills, and role as a seasoned administrator and an accomplished public relations practitioner as deserving of recognition.

Presenting the award to him at a well-attended gala dinner, the National Vice President of NIPR thanked him for his high level of professionalism and continuous commitment to the growth of corporate communications in Nigeria.

Receiving the award, Mr. Shola Adeyemo, thanked the NIPR for the recognition and honour and pledged his commitment to promoting excellence in corporate communications in Nigeria.
