In a gesture of institutional solidarity, Governor Cardoso dedicated the prestigious honor to the board, management, and the entire workforce of the apex bank, citing their collective commitment to institutional reform and economic stabilization.

During his acceptance speech, Governor Cardoso expressed his gratitude to Central Banking Publications and the panel of judges for the global recognition.

He emphasized that the award serves as a testament to the dedication, integrity, and expertise of the professionals who operate at the heart of the Bank, often working diligently behind the scenes to reinforce Nigeria’s economic resilience.

"I accept this award on behalf of the Board, Management, and staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria," Cardoso remarked. "Above all, it belongs to the many dedicated professionals who serve our institution with integrity, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to the public good."

Governor Cardoso acknowledged that the global economic landscape has been fraught with challenges, with Nigeria encountering unique pressures that necessitated bold, decisive policy actions.

He highlighted several critical milestones that defined this tenure, to include the implementation of rigorous reforms to combat elevated inflation and stabilize the foreign exchange market; Targeted efforts to build robust digital and financial infrastructure to support long-term economic development; The successful removal of Nigeria from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list and the completion of the banking sector recapitalization exercise.

Reflecting on the Bank’s reform agenda, Cardoso noted that the primary objective has been to restore public confidence while strengthening institutional resilience and policy credibility.

He credited these gains to the collaborative support of the Federal Government, market participants, and development partners.

Most importantly, he acknowledged the resilience of the Nigerian people as the foundation of these successes.

"We receive this recognition with humility," the Governor stated. "We see it not as a destination, but as encouragement to continue the important work ahead."

The award represents a significant international endorsement of the Central Bank’s strategy at a pivotal time when monetary and financial sector reforms remain essential to Nigeria's economic recovery and future growth trajectory.

Governor Cardoso concluded by reaffirming the CBN's unwavering commitment to preserving public confidence and fulfilling its core mandate through professionalism, accountability, and integrity.
