NIMC Scraps Paper-Based Correspondence, Deploys 'WorkflowPro' for Digital Identity Governance - ITREALMS

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has officially launched WorkflowPro, a dedicated platform for the digital submission and management of all official correspondence, reports ITREALMS

.This strategic deployment marks NIMC’s formal transition to a paperless operating environment, aligning with the Federal Government's commitment to institutionalizing digital-first public services under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The adoption of WorkflowPro is designed to strengthen governance by replacing traditional, manual document handling with a secure, structured, and traceable digital system. 

By standardizing records management, the Commission aims to improve administrative efficiency and operational transparency, ensuring that both internal and external communications are processed with high levels of accountability.

The implementation of WorkflowPro is strictly consistent with the Federal Government's Enterprise Content Management (ECM) policy. This policy mandates the digitization of official records and the total elimination of physical file movements across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). 

Under this new framework, NIMC will utilize the platform for end-to-end tracking of submissions, which is expected to significantly accelerate internal routing and response timelines while ensuring secure electronic archiving.

Interestingly, the WorkflowPro platform was developed entirely by NIMC’s in-house technical team. 

The project was executed under the direct oversight of the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, as part of a broader institutional reform agenda to entrench digital governance and reduce administrative delays within the public service.

To ensure a smooth migration, NIMC has approved a 30-day transition period starting from February 17, 2026. 

During this window, stakeholders and the general public are expected to familiarize themselves with the new digital submission process.

Upon the expiration of this period, the Commission has stated it will officially discontinue the acceptance of all manually submitted letters and paper-based correspondence.

Effective immediately, all external correspondence addressed to the Commission must be submitted via the official portal at https://workflowpro-nimc.com/Submit. The Commission urges all stakeholders to ensure full compliance with this directive to maintain seamless engagement with the agency.
